Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere could return to the Premier League with Newcastle in January, according to L'Equipe.

Jeremie Aliadiere moved to Lorient in 2011
Aliadiere has spent the bulk of his career in England with Arsenal and Middlesbrough but returned to his native France last year, signing a contract with Lorient until 2015.

However, L'Equipe believes Aliadiere could make a return to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens, with Newcastle boss Alan Pardew - who managed Aliadiere during a loan spell at West Ham in 2005-06 - apparently eager to add to his options in attack.

Aliadiere's debut season with Lorient was restricted by injury, but coach Christian Gourcuff has shown belief in the 29-year-old and the striker has scored three goals this season.

No chance, as much chance of us signing Messi, as us seriously going for Aliaderie.

29 he is now? Jesus, how time flies.

Didn't he play for the mighty Boro after failing to make the grade at Arsenal? Looks like CRonaldo, plays like his 2 year old son... All dribbling, no self-control.

It frustrates me that we have some of the world's worst fiction writers updating the rumour mill each day... Where's the Zombie apocalypse and the "and it was all a dream" twists? Can't be far away.

Good news Lee Ryder says no interest. Told you there was as much chance of us signing Messi.

This is great. We spent the summer crapping ourselves that MON was going to sign Emile Heskey. Nice to know the threat of managerial stupidity hangs over you lot too :)

So, the guy we didn't sign on a free transfer two years ago, and instead signed Shefki Kuqi, we are now going to pay to get out of a contract with another three years on it?

    Hmm...
