http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...cini-in-axe-warning-to-Micah-Richards-Co.html ROBERTO MANCINI has warned Micah Richards and his star players they will be axed if they cannot adapt to his style. The Manchester City boss came out fighting yesterday in the face of heavy criticism over his tactics during the 3-1 Champions League defeat against Ajax. Richards questioned the policy of changing to three at the back late in the game. But Mancini said: âMaybe next time we play this system Micah can stay on the bench and we will use another player until Micah knows the system well. âIf you are a top player itâs not important what system you use. âIf you donât understand youâre not a top player and you canât play for a top team.â Mancini takes on Swansea at the Etihad today with a chance to leapfrog neighbours United and close the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea to one point before the pair meet each other at Stamford Bridge tomorrow. But the game comes against a backdrop of uncertainty with City now sitting bottom of their Champions League group with one point and facing elimination at the first stage for the second season running. Never get him imo, but having Johnson might help us a tad
Toon fan here. I would love it if he came to SJP, but his wages are the thing, and since City pay these big wages for players, they'll have a hard time getting rid. I'd bet my house than most of them that aren't wanted at City stay there for the remainder of their contracts because they're just earning too much. He won leave to join another club for 40-50k less than he's on now. He's a superb player.
“If you are a top player it’s not important what system you use. “If you don’t understand you’re not a top player and you can’t play for a top team.” that for me sums up man city, and why they will never be a truly great team. the best teams in history have been greater than the sum of their parts, because they know each other inside out and what is needed of them to win. if mancini is wondering why his multi-million pound allstars can't beat an ajax side assembled for ten million quid tops, he need look no farther than that sentence... if richards leaves city it will be to a better team than us, but i think he is an outstanding player who deserves better than being a token throwback under mancini.
