It’s the M40 derby on Saturday when Oxford United make the short trip to Adams Park to take on Gareth Ainsworth’s Chairboys (k.o 3pm).....more

I'm hoping the Blues will bounce back from their disappointing draw against Barnet and think they can take this 3-1.

I'd be happy with a clean sheet but Oxford will be more of a threat than Barnet.I think it may depend on who is fit to play but a 1-0 scrappy win would be good! <party>

I wouldn't worry about us scoring tomorrow, we're so bad away from home is scary.

    I think you'll win this easily, 2-0

......... and as I posted that we got a penalty and Grant smacks it in for 2-1. Let's hope that gives us some incentive.

FFS. This sounds like the matches from a few weeks ago. No defence. Getting well and truly stuffed now as Oxford nearly go 4-1 up. Not sure I can listen to much more.

I'm sorry that game was not really down to injuries. The team we had out there should have been enough to compete but we were simply second best from minute one. I wont fault them for effort but there was a shear lack of quality. Oxford pressed every ball and we panicked and kept simply giving them the ball back. The worrying thing for me was this was just like a Waddock performance, devoid of any ideas. Winfield played well and at times Lewis but aside from that very little else. Ainsworth needs to hang up his boots now he can't beat a man as his distribution is terrible.

I had been pro-Ainsworth but the last two games have been Waddock-esque in the team's ineptitude. I am not a fan of the board taking so long over their decision process. Whilst I don't think things should be rushed, its a month now and no interviews have been held. The board have stated they have narrowed their list down to 8 or 9 but will all those candidates still be interested without even so much as an interview to date?! Such a delay just leads to insecurity, as Ainsworth will be unsure of his position. I think they want to give it to him (he is the cheapest option) but are a bit unsure as they wont commit.

there was a lack of quality, lack of organisation and lack of luck today - thier 3rd looked like a foul to me.

i think that we should appoint a manager now - gaz gets the team putting in effort but hes not a tactician and the past 2 games have been lackluster. if sean dyche or andy scott are still interested make an approach

It could be time to get some more loan players in (if we can afford to) , a striker is top of the list. I think we will be ok when the injured players are fit again but we don't want to get too far behind the clubs above us or we will be playing catch-up and the players and Ainsworth will be under more pressure.
As for the manager situation the club do need to act soon. I know i was against Ainsworth but i changed my mind after a good run but i would like to know who the 8 or 9 guys candidates are just to see who is out there and what they have to offer the club.

Unfortunately Mowgli don't think we will be privy to that information! I am just concerned the board seem frightened to make a decision and seem to be in no rush. All the while we are sitting very close to the relegation zone and will they allow Ainsworth to get more players on loan if they are unsure of him?

I personally think they need to act interview those candidates, including Ainsworth and the make the decision in the next couple of weeks.

I didn't realise we had so many injuries. It's amazing how much difference the absence of one player can make (depending on who it is of course) let alone half a dozen. It's much easier to look good when there is a choice of players to pass to. Lack of understanding will lead to lack of confidence and therefore performance. I think closing off the Ainsworth option now would be a knee-jerk reaction. I would be in favour of him being given more of a chance with the squad he wants to play, fully fit, before any final assessment.

It is also worth noting that this was the team that thrashed Northampton last week whilst Port Vale were thrashing us, and Northampton beat Port Vale 2-0 today. Maybe we met a revived Oxford today. Not ideal when we are half a team short.

In all likelihood though Ron we are not going to have a fully fit squad for another 5 or 6 weeks. Are we to wait that plus a few games before we decide whether Ainsworth is or isn't good enough? Surely there is not much difference between a guy that has had no games experience as manager as one that has had 10-15 games - neither are that experienced. In that time the "shortlisted" candidates may have applied elsewhere and moved on, as jobs are coming thick and fast, with Accrington and Hartlepool posts becoming vacant in the last couple of days. I think, as I said above, he should be interviewed and considered along with the "shortlist," and a decision made.

Went and to be fair there were some good bits to our play but then there were some poor aspects. It didn't help with the Ref who was clearly on their side! They were quite intimidating and we got sucked in. To be honest our forwards never looked likely to score and they clearly lost confidence when Bull made a mistake to let in their third goal! I think Gaz wasn't his usual self although he did make an effort but the team didn't respond! I suspect losing to Port vale has damaged them! Me gutted but seeing the few Morons who support Oxford does make me appreciate Wycombe. As they say keep the faith and lets see what happens!
