Any boxing fan will know of Manny, arguably the best trainer of all time. best known in this country for being Lennox Lewis' trainer.

    Sad day for boxing

Very sad news. Seemed a true gentleman.

Lennox Lewis was my boxing hero also. A very underrated boxer IMO.

Didn't Manny currently train the klitschko brothers?

Yeah Wladimir, completely saved his career and is the reason he's been world champion for so long.

My boxing hero's were Smokin' Joe, Dennis Andres, Tommy Hearns & Marvin Hagler.

All true legends in a sport that has become a laughing stock & is dying on it's arse.

Thanks to Don King. No black fighter can get near fame without joining his organisation. Slavery all over again.

Don King has controlled boxing in USA for the last 10-15 years at least. All matches are made by him and the fighters careers are planned out. The King organisation also allocates the trainer, financial adviser and seconds, these are members of King,s family or married into it. Biggest part of fighters earnings stay within King organisation. No such thing as successful independent promoters any more.

    Boxing history lesson over.

Fair do's to you and you win on a TKO. Maybe I should have googled King before I opened my keyboard. Can only say that I lost interest in boxing once King got away with the system of breeding fighters to suit his needs and fleecing them as he went along. He was suspected in boxing circles of being instrumental in the Mike Tyson rape case, thus removing his domination of the heavyweight division. Boxing has never been "clean" but for me he took it to its lowest level.

Don't get alot of it over here, but as they say "what time is in in NZ" - about 1998!!!!!!!!!!
