    I'm more of an asshole than a d-bag. <ok>

My favorite part of the debate on foreign affairs the other night was when Romney started accusing Obama have weakening our military and that we have the fewest amount of Naval ships since World War I. Obama response with "we also have less bayonets and horses too"

It's all crazy ****,even as the president he still has a House and Senate that he has to communicate with and agree on before tons of things go out. No matter who it is will have that problem.

Which is right to a point I guess otherwise you end up with Putin types running your country forever rather than just for a couple of terms <ok> its truly unbelievable though when you read about the unreal amount of lobbying that goes on with Senators. Mind blowing really the whole system.

Funny how the blame always lies with one person even though it takes two seperate entities to agree on everything along with the pres. That vote is in 2 years I think and that is almost as important, how many republicans can get shipped in, how many democrats can get shipped in so more bills on one side will pass, etc.

I hate politics, I ****ing really do. <laugh>

Hillary is a belligerent witch and it would be a catastrophe if she were to get office. The Democrats have basically started to represent moderate republicanism while the Republicans are edging ever closer to the extreme right.

I hope that Obama in a second term free from worries of re-election will be more the president we hoped he would be. Tell that fascist Netanyahu to shove it, stop the destruction caused by America trying to control areas they deem a strategic interest and spend the money to benefit his own citizens instead

Politically, Bill Clinton would fit quite well as a Moderate Tory in Britain. Odd how Republicans here paint him as a socialist. Fiscally, he was more conservative than Bush the younger.

Obama is more of a moderate Labour type.

Romney would fit best with the BNP or UKIP... (his BFF Trump just offered to pay $5 million if Obama shows his college report cards... the idea is BC Obama is black he could only have gone to school ad part of affirmative action... he can't be intelligent)

Now Hillary... Hillary would be on the left of Labour. She is no where near as moderate as Bill Clinton or Obama. She wouldn't stand a chance of election here.

Personally, I don't like either candidate... I'd take Bill Clinton back... or McCain if he ditched Palin and all his pro military build up ideas.

I had just got my dual citizenship in time for the last election... voted Ralph Nader that time bc I didn't like Obama... and Palin being the veep and one step from the president scared the crap out o me.

Voting for TJ O'Hara this time.

The 2 things that really bugs me in American politics are lobbyists and unelected policy influencing think tanks. They operate here too but nowhere on the same level.
How these self serving elitist groups are allowed to operate in a supposed open, free and fair for all democracy is beyond me

    Agree completely.

I want to add a third. Parties.

A party makes sense in a parliamentary system. In a presidential system it is just a polarizing evil.

George Washington wanted to outlaw parties in America... he was absolutely right. We're better off with many voices not just two.

The party system in the US is heavily biased towards maintain just two. Due to the advantages the big two have given themselves it would be near impossible for a third party to be competative on a national level.

They're excluded from ballot sheets without petition. Excluded from debates. Excluded from funding. The primary system makes only is publicly funded for big two.

The fact that polling stations allow people to select a "straight party ticket" makes it hard for small parties or independwnts to even get a foothold in.

Personally I think candidates party should not even show on ballot. Parties are nor guaranteed by constitution.

If you don't know what party someone belongs to- should you be voting for them?

Parties should have an unofficial status in US and not guarenteed special rights and primaries stuff.

    Not just the us.

There are consultants all over the world making fortunes advising governments. I mean they get the job because they say they can run the country and then go hire experts because they actually have no clue, it is literally their turn at the trough to dish it out for their financial or otherwise supporters and interests.

    No country is any different.

What makes me laugh is people saying Bush Jnr was elected <laugh> Pull the other one. The most obvious rigging of a democratic election ever in history, one that went totally and utterly unchallenged. Democratic, <laugh>

Politics=illusion of choice for those without any real choice in unequal society. Keeps the plebs happy if they think they have a say.. does it not?

When will we grow up! In reality it doesn't mean a **** who the yanks vote for. We have no say, they don't care what we think, and stupid news agencies like the Beeb will spend a fortune of our money telling us why we should care.

agreed all radio, tv and journos should be banned for travelling to cover this as well as the inauguration ceremonies... the cost of this is stupid as it doesn't matter a damn.

ok ok we've correspondants already onsite in washington etc anyway for world news but do we need the big hitters travelling for the party?

I have a controversial theory that anyone that does not live by water is a moron. It is a natural human instinct to live by a water source. So to go against that and live in a place like Georgia or Utah, you have to have the brains of roadkill. It works everywhere, over here, the people who live in Birmingham and the Midlands are all knuckle-dragging 'tards. But the theory really does convince when applied to America. All the most brain-dead states are land-locked. The fact that Romney may even get 1 vote shows that there is something desperately wrong with America.

Back on topic, You have to watch Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom, was just a vehicle for him to lay into the Tea Party. virtually every week, he was ripping into them and their absolute stupidity.
