Southgate would struggle to manage any club whilst being so far up Keanes ass, everytime he says anything he looks to Roy for approval.

We need someone to come in and stand up to Simon Clegg, and be able to say 'this is how you run a football club.'

    Mick Mills, Joe Royle even.

For me I would like a young manager, given a 4-5 year contract, a plan that is heavily emphasised on bringing through younger hungrier players who play without fear.
A mixture of players coming from the academy and lower league clubs.
A vision and plan that is stuck to no matter how tough things get in the first 18-24 months, even if that means we go down initially. What I would like to see is that in around 2-3 seasons time we are back able to challenge at the top end of this division.

I most certainly do not want an ex-prem manager.....they all have one thing in common, relegation & the sack, we have had enough of the latter of late.

I am not opposed to a "director of football" type figure to go upstairs to try to keep Clegg in check...

    So my top candidates;

    Karl Robinson
    Paul Tisdale
    Richie Barker
    Owen Coyle

(I have replaced Freedman who is now at Bolton with Coyle, would be my best pick from the more "traditional tried & tested" candidates.)

In all seriousness a manager I have always rated and always been surprised he hasn't had a chance at a big club is Ronnie Moore. Did exceptionally well at Rotherham and currently has Tranmere exceeding all expectations.

I still like Taricco, but Tisdale definitely has something going for him. And maybe a relatively fresh manager with something to prove is the way forward.

Lots of yellows joking about glen roder but people forget he has an outstanding record of sucsess, the only problem being it only lasts for half a season. So why not get him in to save you the pleasure of league one with a plan of appointing someone in the summer giving your club much longer to look for the right man. On another note the people mentioning freedman should realise he has a win percentage of 35% in his time at palace the same as PJ has a portaloo rd, football doesnt make sence to me, Personally untill you get a better board in place i think the revolving door at Portaloo is going to carry on spinning

There are so many bloody names being banded about that i am now totally confused as to who i would like to see, how about Keegan and his all out attack style, after all we seem to ignore the defence these days so it would be in keeping with prev bosses.

So we're looking for a manager who's out of work, but with a proven track record?

Well there's Roy Keane, Paul Jewell and, er, David Brent...

Why all the clamour for Paul Tisdale? He's done **** all and he's won **** all! No time for a novice in the dire situation we are in! <ok>

We apparently tried to contact him after we sacked Burley and Rotherham refused permission... and then Sheepshanks refused any knowledge of ever speaking to Rotherham and Ronnie Moore was a bit disillusioned with the situation as he openly admitted to being interested and then nothing further happened
