OK Sunday is a massive game so let's stop all the speculation about Redknapp and just get behind Nigel and the team! We have a reasonable record against Spurs, particularly at home, although we've not played them since 2005 when we won with a Nigel Quashie goal. There have been some classic encounters over the years with plenty of goals.

There is already a thread about the possible team but as far as Spurs go I'm hoping they field a strong team in Europe on Thursday. AVB wants to go a long way in that competition and that could give us a bit of an advantage come Saturday. I see their biggest threat coming down the flanks with Lennon and Bale so I'm praying we get a FB fit. Last thing we need is Yoshida having to play out of position again!

Nigel will have had plenty of time to get the West Ham result out of their systems so let's hope for a fast start and let's just get at them! With a full ground roaring us on we have every chance of getting a result.

One thing is for sure you will be able to get big odds on the game being goalless!

Prediction 3-2 to Saints. Rickie with 2 and hopefully Mayuka!

    Over to you

Spurs ain't all that and I think AVB's honeymoon period is coming to an end.

All he has done is inherit a very good team put together by Redknapp and carried it on. I'm pretty sure that even I could have walked into the job and had them where they are now.

They were beaten quite comfortably in the end by Chelsea and confidence will be low.

I think it will be a score draw. 1-1.

You could have at least posted stats that showed our goalscorers.

I won't do a prediction for Sunday. But if we stay up this season, it'll be because of our home form (pretty much what Mark Hughesout QPR last season, and he was right). We can beat Spurs, but we'll need to score at least 2, probably 3, to do it. Let's hope Rickie has his shooting boots on.

This is a bit of a distraction from the real business of speculating about Nigel's job and conjecture about the true role of Reed/Cortese, with a bit of Arry thrown in. I'll go for a draw.

We are going to have to play at our very best to get anything from this game.

Might be wrong, but think he was referring to the original stats you posted with Saints-Spurs head-to-heads. Shows Spurs' scorers but not Saints'.

Spurs win - something like 3-1.

Also, can someone remind me - when again does our season start? Got confused by all the dates that had been going around previously. Is it now set for the Ramirez comeback?

After the defensive display against West Ham, I'll go 1-3 (Lallana, Defoe, Bale x2)

    Boruc
    Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw
    Richardson* Schneiderlin JWP Fox
    Lallana
    Lambert
Subs: Gazzaniga, Hooiveld, Reeves, S Davis, Puncheon, Mayuka, Rodriguez.
*Swap with Reeves if unfit and put Butterfield on the bench.
3-1 Spurs. Defoe and Bale open the scoring, we pull one back through Mayuka and then Defoe nets again at the end.

I'd play four full backs to be ultra negative and to block the channels! Spurs will want to play out wide and get the likes of Bale, Lennon, Walker involved and we need to stop their threat. I wouldn't want to play three CBs because they won't have a great partnership and won't be used to playing this formation-they didn't deal well with West Ham's fourth!

Our only way to create chances with this 11 will be to get Lambert to hold the ball up for the players around him or to have our full backs overlap and send balls into the box. We can bring on Mayuka, Rodriguez and Puncheon as the game goes on as players tire and hopefully we shouldn't be too out of sight so we can go and get something out of the game!

Problem with that Jose is that Richardson and Shaw are both out injured and Fox may be.
