Ferguson said he had resolved his dispute with Ferdinand who he accused of embarrassing him on Saturday after the defender failed to wear a t-shirt in support of an anti-racism campaign. Nemanja Vidić remains sidelined with a knee injury, but Ashley Young is back from knee injury. Buttner and Wooton will start the game. Player to Watch Wayne Rooney United will be hoping he continues his good link up with Robin van Persie. Team News Braga Besides a collection of technically gifted and experienced midfielders in the shape of Hugo Viana, Ruben Micael and Alan, Peseiro will rely on the services of lanky striker Eder, already the club's top scorer in the league. Douglão, Djamal and Paulo César have all stayed in Portugal due to injury. Ismaily and Ruben Amorim faced fitness tests in Monday's training session, while Alan is a doubt after only recently returning from injury. Player to Watch Eder Bragas top scorer will be hoping to add more goals tonight.
Apologies for not doing the Stoke game, was busy and had to download the game later to watch as I was unable to watch it live.
Maybe but Fergie isnt going to have a repeat of last season and while our defence is dodgy as **** playing those two gives us protection as we know we will score goals. I wouldnt be surprised if he starts both this time and the next game until we qualify. Hes already dropping Rio and Evra so the defence will be even more susceptible to conceding and fire power up top will be our answer.
yeah I guess RVP and Rooney will get a half each and expect Hernandez,Nani, Kagawa and Cleverley to start, Valencia to get 60 mins then Young to replace him, also would like to see 1 of our keepers have a consistant run but expect Lindegaard to start.
I doubt SAF want to make too many changes and risk a repeat of last year but we have a much bigger match on Sunday and for Rooney Braga would be his fourth game in 11 days, thanks to useless internationals.
SAF has said he's likely to use the diamond formation again, and that he rested two players who have been playing well in Kagawa and Cleverley. He also said that Kagawa is ideally suited to playing behind the striker, but has played well in the "middle right" position, i.e. the right hand player in the diamond. This means that Rooney is likely to play there I guess, unless he's going to use Young. I'm expecting to see a similar lineup to this: -----------De Gea---------- Rafael--Wootton--Evans--Buttner ---------Fletcher----------- --Kagawa--------Cleverley-- ----------Rooney----------- ---Hernandez----Welbeck--- I think RVP and Carrick will be rested for Chelsea, but we'll find out in a few hours I guess!
Well we know Liverpool are certainly not playing on a tuesday I reckon a strong side will be put out tonight, i think Sir Alex will look to get 1 or 2 in the first half and then maybe bring Rooney or whoever off with 30 minutes to go if we are winning. Better to go for the strong line up to start with rather than having to bring the big guns on the second half to chase the victory.
The reasons for it being quiet are well known. Probably less than a dozen active United supporters left now.
Good match thread UIR. I am hopeful that SAF does not underestimate Braga. Rio and Evra are already out and with an inexperienced side in Europe we all know what can happen. If neither RVP nor Rooney plays I would be seriously worried. I understand that we need to keep some legs for the chavs match but losing tonight will be damaging for morale.
I'm really glad that Fergie's been trying out a diamond formation. Never thought I'd see the day when he'd drop wingers. 3-2 United.
3-1 Man United, that defence may give Braga some hope but I do feel United will have to much going forward and they will end off seeing the Portugueze quite comfortably in the end. I really enjoyed watching United play Stoke on Saturday, some of there football with the front 3 on Sat was fantastic. The Rooney and RVP combination is a very exciting one and its great that there gelling together .
