It's that time again! Has anyone played the Beta version yet? I decided to pre order it from tesco this morning, in hope that I could play it on my week off but am yet to receive my code. That was 4 hours ago So if anyone has seen any of the Charlton player stats, then please divulge!! Also money, expectations etc
I don't know if this video will show us any of the player stats but it's a guy who has the demo doing a Charlton season. I couldn't really watch it as i found the guy talking over it irritating
oops didnt think that one through... Sucks that I will have to wait until atleast christmas for this game fm12 with updated transfers wont even come close!
Just playing the beta, here are my thoughts on some of our players: Solly- looks ok. Thought he would be better. Strength is at 8 which seems very low. Wiggins: very similar to solly. Defensively not as good as solly, and not much difference in his attacking stats (Surprising) Stephens: very middle of the road. Technical stats are ok. Kermo: good mental and physical stats. Fuller: disappointed. Physical stats should be better. Technique very modest also. Kerkar: transfer list Morrison: ok.slightly disappointed Overall, whilst not expecting a complete overhaul in the players, I have to say a few really do disappoint. BWP starts on the transfer list for some reason, as does green.
Fuller was rated by the Stoke researcher who has obviously seen far more of him than we have. He's rated as a top Championship/lower Prem player. Solly and Wiggins are rated as good Championship players. Agree Solly's strength (and agility) is a little low, but not by much. His strengths are his mental attributes, which are all rated very highly, not his physical attributes or attacking play. Not sure there are many areas he needs much of an increase? Wiggins has good ratings for dribbling, crossing, off the ball etc. which reflect the attacking side of his game. If he had 14s and 15s in those areas he'd be rated as a Premier League wing back, he's not at that level yet. Stephens - probably needs tweaking slightly (as does Hollands). I think middle of the road is probably a fair description of his performances. He's looked decent at this level, but he's not a top end Championship player. Kerkar, BWP and Green - I can't set who's transfer listed. Not seen that happen with BWP or Kerkar myself. With Green it's down to his ability and reputation being very similar to Wagstaff and Wilson. I tried to stop this happening (by making the gap bigger between Green and Waggy) but it doesn't seem to have stopped it happening. Morrison is rated as a good Championship centre back, similarly to Solly he reads the game well and his best attributes are in those areas. Kermorgant - last season he looked like he'd comfortably step up to this level. Not looked as "beastly" to me. Probably needs a few ratings lowered slightly. Have to remember the ratings are based on last season. It's also worth seeing how they actually perform in the game. The likes of Morrison and Solly will be improved for the next data update if they keep performing well at this level.
i downloaded the demo last week as i had the week off, fully intending putting some quality time in with it, but it never happened. i'll have to wait till the xmas week off now to give it a go. i'm finding the games are too big - they take up too much time. whatever happened to the old school games like tactical manager? they were so easy to pick up and play
If you play classic mode, it's a shorter version of the game. I've shamefully played it for 21 hours and am only in January!
No man can fit Football Manager, work, TV (homeland, boardwalk empire, walking dead etc) and a missus in to their daily schedule. Something has to give, and it's not FM, TV or (unfortunately) work.
I'll probably get it in a week or two, kind of want to go back to my fm 2012 game with Eastleigh where I got consecutive promotions to the premier league.
Soccer Saturday, bet slips in hand, and football manager. For those interested my season isn't too dissimilar to CP's. I hovered in and around the relegation zone, even receiving the dreaded vote of confidence. Scoring goals not being the problem, but a defence that can't stop leaking. Solly has been awful but I will remain loyal. Dropping Cort for Dervite was the start of a good run (8 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats) and managed to climb to the dizzy heights of 14th. Another bad run of 3 defeats and 1 draw has seen me fall to 19th though. Signings: With little money (and not many decent players available) I relied heavily on loans (sorry guys). I got Mackie from QPR, Gary Gardner from Villa, Chucks Aneke from Arsenal and Formica from Blackburn. I also signed Ephraim on a short term loan when injuries struck. In January I signed someone called Joel Lindpere from New York on a free and Kelvin Wilson from Celtic to try and stop the goals leaking (he cost 180k). Going out was Danny Green to Millwall for 700k, Lawrie Wilson to Doncaster for 200k and Jon Sulivan to M'boro for 60k. So my side (when everyone is fit) looks like this: Hamer Solly - Morro - Wilson - Wiggins Stephens/Gardner - Hollands/Jacko Mackie - Formica - Haynes/Lindpere/Cook Kermo (20 goals in 30 so far)
