We are both seaside cities with football teams. The similarities end there. Lets stop kidding ourselves
...and both play attractive football in the top league in their respective countries. But I know what you mean. 'Barca Lite' maybe. I've been to Barcelona many times. Great City.
In fairness, last year watching Barca the plan was pass to Messi..if it didn't work then they were stuck, lost there ways in past couple of years You's arguably play the better football Hopefully it doesn't mean we are competing with you in the top half of the table
I wish. Latest estimates on the Sagrada Famillia are around 12 years I think. Funny how the side of the Church finished after Gaudi's death isn't a patch on the side that he completed during his lifetime. It's a great landmark though.
It is a stunning piece of work The Sagrada Famillia, have been watching the building work over the past 12 years. But I do prefer Gaudi's work on it while he was alive.
who is having a laugh, swans and barcelona, ffs lucky to beat wigan, some ppl need to get their head out of their arse and awake to reality
I don't think anyone on this board seriously equates our play to that of Barcelona. We merely aspire to play in their style at our level. Nothing wrong with that.
Its a nice tag to have, i do feel that sometimes teams get an extra incentive to shove it up us because of the comparision in style of play and Barca lite name , of course we are nowhere near them in reality but there is nothing really wrong in getting some nice things said about our football by the likes of Rio ferdinand the media and of course cesc fabrecas.
To one of the above posters... Undoubtedly Messi is a fantastic player, a player any side would want every attack to go through... BUT Barca also have Sanchez, Tello, Villa, Pedro, Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi, Alves, Alba etc in attack. They are all world class or getting there (Tello and Alba). The whole 'they'd be nothing without Messi' thing is a complete myth. They were a shave of the post from beating Chelsea at the Bridge, and it was Sanchez as well. Sure, they'd be less of a great side, but they'd still be a bloody great side. And if they've 'lost their way' it's only by the stupidly high standards they set 2008 onwards. Oh, and last year they were missing arguably the world's best (or top 3 at least) striker with a broken leg. Rant over.
The Sunderland man who posted on the 9th of September? Doubt he'll be back to check on his post so I'd guess your rant has been somewhat wasted
we are not saying we are anywhere equivalent to barca but we try to emulate them....It wasn't anyone connected with Swansea who pointed out the similarities in the first place. Garry linker even calls us swanolona on Match of the day occasionally...
We're pale imitations of Barcelona but I'd rather watch us play the way we do than some other clubs I could mention
