Steve Bruce said we had 29 shots at there goal today and when you think we used to watch games and properly see 29 shots over half a dozen games in the past, we well deserved the win but we still have to be more clinical in front of goal, other that that it was another very enjoyable game to watch. On the plus side it was great to see Proschwitz score two and hopefully now go on and get plenty more, one negative was the news Matty Fryatt will be out for the season, i am sure if he could score 16 last season in a team that hardly made any chances then in this side he would easily have got 25
I don't agree that we didn't create chances last season. We all agreed for 90% of the season that if we had a big striker who could finish our team off (Rickie Lambert was always mentioned) we'd have made the top 6. We had countless games that we threw away through crap finishing and it was only in our ****e spell in March which coincided with Koren's injury that we stopped creating chances. I remember I looked it up at one point and we were 2nd worst behind Bristol City in terms of shot conversion. This year is noticably better than last, but that doesn't mean we were total ****e last year.
Yes SB said he tried to train today but had the same problem so looks as though is season is over, it will be confirmed on Monday
It was ****e last year, we ****ed around with the ball far too much, we never got anywhere near double figures for shots on target or for most games last season. Loads of posession and pretty passing but **** all else.
If you go here; http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00zh2v8 And scroll along for I don't know how many minutes, you can get the SB and NP interviews. I like the NP interview especially. He is MASSIVELY confident, and too right. I see more coming from this boy. Shame for Fryatt, real shame.
Bruce said he thought we'd had 29 shots on target, when we actually only had 21 overall (9 on target)
according to BBC website i dont think we had quite that many. 21 shots and 9 ontarget. surprising to see that ipswich had 9 shots with as many as 6 on target!!!
IMO, Ipswich are the poorest team to have come to the KC so far this season. They are going down as things stand. Far to many loans and old legs in the team and the last 20 mins they were over ran by a rampant City. On another day City should have been 3-0 up before the Ipswich goal and Yes double figures could well have been the score for City. Very good play at times and hope we can keep it up on tuesday @ Middlesboro. As Tom Cairney tweeted after the game ""the lads and dressing room are Buzzzzzzzzzing"" and so they should be. The 2-1 scoreline was a travesty though on the game really.
sounds like an average night out for today's youth. before yesterday we were 2nd in the league for most attempts on goal in the Championship according The Football League website. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/ClubShooting/0,,10794~20127,00.html We are probably #1 now.
According to Soccernet we had 20 shots, 8 on target, but when you check out Henderson's stats he had 8 saves, but we scored 2, officially confused. http://espnfc.com/uk/en/gamecast/statistics/id/343999/statistics.html?soccernet=true&cc=5739
I watched Burnsy interview with NP after the match on Tiger Player, and he really needs to learn how to interview foreign player who's first language is not English. Burnsy said to him " Well I failed by "O" level in German, and was wondering what my headline would be, so what would "Nick Nicked it" in German be? How would he know what an "O" level was, and he looked totally bemused with the comment on the headline FFS.
I can guarantee that if you looked back to threads on here from most games last season, you'll find pretty much everyone in agreement that we created a **** load but couldn't finish them. When Pearson left everyone pretended he was always **** and we were better off with Barmby, now Barmby has left we're pretending that he was **** too. Very selective memories, like Leeds fans when they lose their better players.
I think Pearson did a good job steadying the ship and making us difficult to beat. Barmby built on that and improved the quality (and level of entertainment of the footbal) and we became a better footballing side. Bruce has built on this further, and I can honestly say that we are playing as entertaining a football as I can ever remember.
Could not agree more with your comments 14 ON JACK'S SHIRT, were not has tight has when NP was here, Nick Barmby then made us more entertaining but Steve Bruce seems to have the more Kevin Keegan approach which is get one more than them, its much more entertaining but does not always work because of us hardly ever been able to keep a clean sheet and i think its just a case of getting the balance right but like you say this is the best entertainment wise
