Would be absolutely fantastic at this level, wouldn't see Becchio in the team if there were signed (thank **** for that). Jerome would be a huge surprise as he has a lot to offer even for a prem team, can't understand why Stoke would let him go. Jones at this level would do incredibly well as well, a true hold-up striker imo and incredibly good in the air. He also has a bit of pace about him but as previously said not amazing with the ball at his feet. Both have a lot to offer at this level Now believing we can actually sign these players within a fortnight is the next challenge
Josh Becchio frustrates me but ge scores so you can't drop him until he stops scoring I can't remember the last time he controlled it n took someone on? He only ever diffuses quick moves annoying but he scores
Yes, I agree about Becchio. He scores goals but he contributes very little to every other aspect of the game. I genuinely believe I have better control than him. I think it'll be better for the long term of Leeds United for him to be sold now while he is worth money (obviously finding a capable replacement first though)
I was waiting for you to come along, in fact I considered not posting it because I was scared the evil mod would target me
Becchio's been one of our most loyal players, but we tend to show him little loyalty in return. I mean, we can start complaining about the players we don't think are good enough- but if we're going to do that, we have to stop talking about playing for the shirt, loyalty to the club and the other things we constantly mention..cause to my mind Luccs has those qualities, and that gives him a lot of room to mess up. And that's despite his actually very good goalscoring record..people tend to forget that Beckford, if he wasn't scoring, gave even less to the team than Luccs did- he just gave the impression of being fancier. This will sound bizarre, but even when Luccs cheats a la Friday night i love him- i feel like he badly wants us to win, and though i too get frustrated by him at times he's one of the last players i'd start berating from the stands.
Becciho is why england never do owt. Because we love players who look busy and will run around alot. He's been garbage in 75% of matches this season
So what's garbage to you? Doing what the manager asks of you & banging in goals? That'll do me! What else do you expect of him? Realistically? Btw, I'm quite happy that england never do owt! Sadly, they do a damn sight more that Scotland do!
Whitejock He hasnt been doing what manager been asking, he hasnt been holding the ball, at all, apart maybe forest game. What else do you expect of him? Realistically? ------------------------------------------------------ To be able to trap a ****ing ball Goals(two pens) have hidden how bad becchio has been this season
Morning all, I'll believe these two signings if they ever materialise. But dropping Becchio would be a bad move. He puts in a shift & a half for the team. He scores goals, & he links up with whoever he's partnered with. He would certainly make it at a higher level, although he he would have to stay on his feet a tad more than he does. That said, it seems to be the modern way to fall over if someone breathes on you. And as such, he's only doing what plenty of others do.
What I find frustrating about Becchio is that he allows the ball to bounce off his shins, it goes 10 feet forward and straight to an opposing player, if his job is to hold up the ball then it is a fail. However, how much would it cost to replace him with something better?
He puts in a shift & a half for the team ---------------------------------------------------------------- Means nothing, you need to bring something to the team. He's a target man whos not holding the ball up at the minute Not a chance he's do it in prem
Well he didn't seem to do much on friday to make it look like he badly wanted us to win Your a ****ing legend
YOU NASTY PEOPLE LEAVE LUCIANO ALONE!!!!!!!!! I agree with Jake 100% though, some people bang on about loyalty to the badge/fans etc., Luciano shows all of these qualities and yet gets no loyalty in return from the same fans. Hands down my favourite player to play for the club since relegation from the PL.
Simon he's my favourite player too but let's be honest technically he's not very good and he's been shocking all season lucky that he's had a lot if goals handed to him on a plate
As they say though, you need to get yourself in those positions. Funny how Paynter never had many goals handed to him.
Completely agree. Technically I don't think Paynter was any worse than Becchio; in fact he was probably a lot better. But he didn't score as many goals because he never got into the right positions, and that's half the battle for a striker anyway!
