Can't agree with fergie on this one. Think he messed up in pre match interview saying everyone should wear the t-shirts. Its not like he's the only black player to refuse to wear the shirt. think fergie is pissed with rio anyway for all his twitter postings. January exit for rio methinks. fergie should have just said that they are against racism but it is up to the players if they want to wear the t shirt. the whole thing has gotten messy now because it looks like rio is putting it up to fergie.

 

Freedom of speech, expression isnt allowed in Fergies world.North Korea Mark 2, bullies his own players , like he does the media,referees, the FA.Brian McDermott got the issue spot on, Fergie is a worm!!!

 

Whilst I would not go as far as this, what Fergie has done is essentially say that the club (or he himself) is more important than any issue Rio may have with this!

Surely racism in football, or at least a person's view on racism is football transcends any club rules or allegiance! What Rio has done is go against Fergie's wishes, if he promised to wear the t-shirt then Fergie probably has a point...but his point actually is fundamentally wrong!

The whole thing just highlights the mess that the FA made when they tried to tackle racism. Now we have black players arguing amongst each other as to the best way to tackle it, we have the kio campaign being ridiculed by black players as ineffective, we have people booing national anthems because of it, we have crowds chanting taunts because of it, we have the PFA buckling under pressure because of it, we have the media talking nonstop about it, we have Fergie telling Rio he will be dealt with because of it, we have handshakes becoming more important than the actual football because of it, we have back page headlines being dominated by it, we have people arguing about it and we have it more in our faces than ever before!

And all this resulted because the FA decided that Suarez was probably guilty of something that no language expert and no video/audio evidence could prove!

I am not defending Suarez here and I am not saying that his alleged language should be condoned, I am just pointing out that before that incident nobody talked about it and it was as far as I am aware not a problem! Then the FA got involved and it seems that that is all I read about now, it has become a talking point on all forums and has become a reason for fans to taunt other fans which results in a response which just makes everything worse!

I actually imagine that Fergie and Evra thought they were doing good when they went into the ref's room and lied that Suarez had used the word '******', but ultimately that one lie has led to what we have now, that is, everyone arguing with each other and football taking a back seat to handshakes, taunts, chanting and basically everything else to do with stuff...other than football! It sickens me to see it happening, I used to enjoy football and reading the papers about goals, skill etc etc...now all I read is arguments about who should wear t-shirts, who should be captain, who has the worst fans, why such and such is racist, why so and so is not racist...it is all pretty sad to be honest, and it all kicked off cos Evra and Fergie said that the word '******' was used 10 times, 5 times 7 times, or whatever it was they decided upon! when in actual fact that word was not used at all!! So sad!
