Laura Mongans SEA CADET 3.50 Kempton is being punted and the yard are more than capable of landing one. 10lb claimer up so it will be carrying a featherweight! Well worth some each way sheckels.
Naas 3.25 Balrath Hope 9/1 If Manieree runs up to her best then shes going to be very hard to beat but she set the pace in that gruelling Blandford Stakes that bottomed Caponata and she is only two weeks back from another tough race in testing ground at Longchamp so im willing to take her on with a filly I like and who I think is progressing quickly. She improved from 2 to 3 winning her maiden well and comfortably accounted for Bolgers progressive filly Livia Galilei in a handicap at Down Royal who went on to frank the form by winning 2 decent handicaps on the bounce. After two disappointing runs when well fancied, she bounced back with what I thought was a big run at Listowel when going for home a long way out with Mamma Rosa, they cut each others throats and set the race up for Loreto and Cheval Rouge but while Mamma Rosa completely emptied, this filly kept on really well and was only beaten 2 lengths. She is 5 pounds better off with Loreto in this race and considering how that race panned out id be dissappinted if she didnt reverse the form. Last time out she may have had an impossible task when conceding 19 pounds to Hurricane Twister who was rated 62 at the time and after his next run was given a rating of 91, she pulled well clear of the rest over a trip that was probably on the short side for her so it was fair performance considering. She has a mountain to climb on ratings at the weights and im not sure if Crysanthemum will run, but outside the top two, I think she has a good chance of coming out best of the rest. With my worries about Manieree and Crysanthemum having run today and her overall inconsistent record, I think both could be beatable and if that happens to be the case, Balrath Hope could be the one to be on, heres hoping!
Beautifully written article on Frankel and Sir Henry Cecil here including a photo of the Queen getting rather excited as he won the race yesterday. Nice one your Majesty
Morning all, I hear that the King stable think MCVICAR 4/1 will run well in the first at Kempton Best Of Luck All
Sea Cadet has to be a little bet with the money coming for it, also done it in a L15 with Nicholls horses Brampour, Polisky and Sky Watch. Be nice if they all came in!
Nassau, if you look back through its form it is thrown in here of its current mark. Money down and its hardly surprising.
First L15 for about two years, just had a funny feeling this morning and I hope it wasn't the steak sandwich at Cheltenham yesterday.
Novellist runs at San Siro today, 7/4 with Hills, I know he has been disappointing but even his German Derby form and run behind Dandream and Pastorius should be good enough to win in Italy, if he hadnt run since the German Derby he would be 1/3.
Agreed Nass I like the horse but I was most disappointed with his effort yesterday. Hope he is going to come on a good bit for that run.
He looks like a soft ground horse to me, and I was actually pleased by his run before he found the two others too sharp when coming up the hill. He looks like he is in need for a stamina test or softer ground. Also he was giving weight away.
