Just a quick one to say thanks to all on here for your Pm's and messages of support. Sorry if i havn't answered all personally but been pretty busy. Last month i had my Template biopsy (i never knew certain parts of my anatomy could go such colours AND still operate) and it would be an understatement to say it was 'uncomfortable'. The great news is that i had my results back on Wednesday and even though they still found Cancer (best case would of been that it was so small they couldn't trace it at all), the bit they found hadn't spread and is still pretty small. So now i'm back to my 2 monthly blood/PSA checks and every year or so i've gotta go through the 'pain in the arse' (ahem....bad pun i know) of having another biopsy. If anything good has come out of this all, at least it's given me the push to get fit again and to enter next summers 'Tough Guy' race (i last did it in 2008- the winter one is just TOO extreme), so if anyone wants to sponser me, once i sort out a just giving page, in aid of SENSE it would be very welcome I decided a month or so ago to take a bit of a break from the board 'cos TBH i don't think i had much to say about things anymore, maybe my head wasn't right, maybe i've just lost interest, only time will tell. Rest assured i do read the board most days and still find a lot of whats said informative and will continue to read to get my dose of QPR news. Take care all and hope to see you at LR in the near future Many many thanks again to you all.
Nice one mate. That's terrific news. You're a top fella, keep those great spirits up and let's hope theRs can deliver a celebratory victory tomorrow.
Good to hear from you Staines. Funny i was only thinking about you this week as i had not seen your posts of late and thought you must have more important things on your mind. Take care. Ellers
Nice one Stainesy. Sorted me tickets for the Saints game if you're going and have time for that catch up we were talking about. I know you take your boy to his own football on Saturday mornings so no probs if you haven't got time. Always other times - especially now we know you're fairly fit and raring to go!! Let me know when you want the sponsorship - obviously a great cause for blokes of a certain age!!
It's good to hear from you mate, and to hear your positive news. I've often thought of you, especially whilst it's been kicking off on here and wondered how unimportant it must all seem to you. Keep your mind positive Stainsey and beat the ****er. Good luck with the race and show me where to sign.
Staines, I have thought about you occasionally as my father is going through the same thing. I believe I may have mentioned this before. I get regular updates from him in respect of the obtrusive checkups and PSA levels and the like. This subject invariably leads me to consider others in the same boat such as your good self. I am delighted for you and your nearest and dearest that news to date is positive and I sincerely hope that this will remain so. Best regards to you and yours.
Just to echo the other sentiments Staines. Glad to hear the fight is going well and hopefully it will continue to do so Take care of yourself buddy and hopefully we will have you back here fighting fit as soon as possible. Good luck.
Great news, Staines No need to go crazy with the extreme sports though! What is it, some kind of Ironman triathlon? Take it easy for a while
Great to hear Staines, good to have you back, you've been missed. The sponsorship sounds like a great idea, keep us posted as I'm personally very interested in the development
see you in a few weeks staines! we're all looking forward to waking up with hangovers on the sunday!!
Glad to to hear positive news for you Staines. Sounds like you're real positive too. Good luck with the fitness training. Looking forward to some contributions as we pick up form.
