Check the fixture list again mate... Arsenal have played Stoke, Liverpool, West Ham (yes they are hard!!!) and Man City away, as well as Chelsea at home. Tough fixtures. Hmmm.

I don't think United fans can have it both ways. Either their strikers are good or their midfield is. If they were both so brilliant they would be looking far more convincing.

Most people will say that their strikers are significantly better than their midfield. I can't believe Carrick makes the United team (or England), let alone gets talked about in the same category as the rest of the players on the list. I feel the same about Gerrard by the way.

Purely in Midfield terms Man city and Arsenal are well up there, although Diaby hasn't (for me) proved he can be good, week in, week out. Chelsea are not proving as weak defensively as I thought (or hoped) they would be, but I am still neutral on them.

I would say Spurs and Liverpool are down more and Man Utd are struggling also. If you have a top class midfield, Giggs and Scholes don't get on the park, not even as subs.

If you forced me I would say:

    Man City
    Arsenal
    Chelsea
    Manchester United
    Liverpool
    Spurs

Yeah 3 points behind Mancity and Manunited is really being adrift of Mancity and Manunited you silly clown.

And not to mention that we've faced tougher teams than you have as well, we've already faced the English and European Champions.

Fixed? As in how Manunited want to get ref's to fix results for them, that doesn't work here.

Wilshere is a much better player than Cleverly, you illustrate what a silly clown you are by saying they're equal, and simply illustrate the fact of how little Manu fans really know about football, what next, you're going to tell me Powell is also better than Wilshere right?

Arteta=Carrick? HAHAHA, stats blow your ass away on that one, so there's no need to debate.

Wilshere is ****ING MILES better than Cleverly. Its a ridiculous comparison.

I'm pretty excited to see how a Arteta, Wilshere and Carzorla midfield looks.

I would say we have the best midfield options in the league. However United and City have better options upfront and in Defence.

Why did you leave out Newcastle?

Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cabaye and Jonas?

That's a better midfield than Liverpool and Spurs IMO.

Ben Arfa - One of the best dribblers in the PL and looks on form now

Tiote - Solid on form. Total beast.

    Cabaye - Great playermaker.

Jonas - An engine that works hard in attack and defence.

Arsenal, City and Chelsea very clearly have the best 3 midfields of the league.

@shwan - actually most of the top teams are not made up of 50% wingers in midfield. In fact Utd are the only team who consistently play with 50% wingers in midfield.

And my assumption is that this thread is more to do with the central midfield area. And i recon its being pedantic to suggest otherwise :p

Arsenals midfielder are all very good in possesion and attack but I rate them lower than Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Spurs for the simple fact that all these teams have players in these positions who are quite strong defensively Aresenal however do not. I think all of these teams I have mentioned have more balanced midfields. It's not all about attack.

OBviously know we are rock bottom of all the teams in the PL table out of those in the OP, but don't think our midfield is given enough credit. I think with the front 3 from some of the other teams their worth would be truly shown.

Lucas - has been unlucky to be out for so long, but has some of the best interception and tackling stats of any midfielder in the league, his presence is surely missed and he has become an incredible CDM, better than mascherano was for us

Gerrard - still has it, always written off but then produces performances from no where. He will suffer slightly under Rodgers as he prefers the longer balls rather than shorter simpler passing, but his first touch and vision are superb

Allen - Keeps the ball moving and has some of the best pass completion stats in the league. Fair enough you won't see him scoring any time soon, but his job is done behind closed doors really, a player like Allen is essential for any time hoping to keep the ball constantly moving and recycling through the team. (unless you go for the west ham approach and cut out the midfield <whistle>)

Sahin - Bundesliga player of the year, the year before last, has scored some crackers in EL and will come good after he has settled,

Shelvey - young lad that is due a spell in the England squad imo, still raw in areas but has improved shed loads over the last year or two.

At the least we have a better midfield than United's which comprises of Carrick and Kagawa, the rest are in attack!

As for the OP, I think Arsenal probably have the best midfield (in the true sense of the word), leaves me asking where Wilshere will fit in??

Arteta is the best DM in the league at the moment. Most interceptions, tackles, and pass completion. Some would say he's the best in the world at the moment, but I wouldn't go that far.

Anyway, to say Arsenal don't have a defensive player in the midfield shows a complete lack of any football knowledge.
