He still had from N ovember to save us.... by that logic (it's November in 10 days), we had better stick with Nigel as there isn't long enough for anyone to change anything.

We played Pompey, WBA, Norwich and Palace under Harry as well, and only won one of them.

Things didn't go we'll under Wigley, of course they didn't. But we could have still survived under Harry, without any doubt.

If that taxdodging crooked rancid bent **** Redknapp ends up back in charge of Saints, then I will personally shove my season ticket up Cortese's arsehole.

HR has already seen us relegated once! No thanks he is not the type of manager we need here at Saints. If we need one at all that is.......
To be honest I think if the results carry on as they have I think NA will resign himself....I don't think he will need pushing. Nah HR is not the one for us period............

No, get off the fence and tell us what you really think CBK!

(P.S. I agree totally, not that I have a ST to insert).

Satchell face wouldnt even want to come back here, who ever takes this job after Adkins has it all to do. Its a massive job to save us all ready, thats what is most worrying.

Our defence is clearly shocking at this level. We have just been thumped by a team we were unbeaten against last year. I think Adkins will have two more home games to arrest the tide after which I would suggest the reappearance of one H Rednapp which personally would be a fabulous coup.

Problem with redknapp is that he will want too much of a say in how the club is run which cortese won't like. and saints fans just wouldn't accept it.

I'd rather go down with Nige than risk the clubs stability with the appointment of Redknapp. Theres more dangerous things than just relegation out there.

As everyone is throwing a number of names into the hat, I too thought of HR!! As an alternative, how about Rafa if Nigel Adkins goes. Being a bit more objective, West Ham have a squad with a lot of Premiership experience, whereas, I can count only Kelvin Davis and the other Davis in the Saints team who have played at the highest level. Not sure how much Premiership footie Fonte had in his previous incarnation at Palace so some of the problems stem from this aspect.

We do have a few guys who have played in the PL before - Puncheon, Fox, Richardson etc - but I only really count Steve Davis as being Premiership-experienced.

I get why you don't want him....but I don't get the thing about him sending all his previous clubs into receivership...

West Ham - they were messed up way after he left - it was the Icelandic egg head bloke who screwed them over
    Bournemouth - ditto
so he had sod all to do with them getting into trouble...

Southampton and portsmouth chairmen spent money on transfers and wages that they couldn't afford...surely that is the responsibility of the chairmen.

At spurs he was told no when he wanted to pay too much in transfers or wages and no matter how much he whined in the media our chairman did not let him over spend.

Martin Oneal was manager of Wycombe (had massive money problems after) Leicester (went into administration after) Celtic (had huge money problems after) and villa (currently in a state) yet he is not accused of of financially ruining them.

Anyway back on point ... I don't blame you not wanting him back...I woudn't either in the same position

Three different posters each arguing for the bulldog chewing a wasp, and not one of them recognising he bought his success...and it would seem to the detriment of the club?

Can it really be just coincidence these clubs struggled after he left? If he wasn't good enough for the Spurts, then why would he be our saviour? He had a crack at that title few years back and failed.

TBH I haven't a clue who MIGHT be available and WANT the job. Maybe Wenger is going to be free after today's result...he could then finally have free rein of our young talent coming through!

    ;-)

I'd give my right arm for the experience of Benitez right now, and give my right nut not to have Redknapp. I think Nigel needs time to adjust, but I don't know (and this is the first time I've actually thought this) that we have that time to give him. Rafa for me. Nigel a second choice.....and I hate saying that.

If there is to be a change down the line, I have a hunch (own intuition mind) that perhaps Zola or Poyet may emerge in the hot seat. The good news for all other Saints fans, my predictions are 95% wrong!! Mind you I did predict a Jamaican 1,2, 3 - alas it was for the 100m and not the 200m!
