Now, the lad may never want to come here but I have read the 24 year old is an £8m summer target for Fiorentina?

Could we compete for him? Should we compete for him?

I think the answer to both questions is a definate yes.

Perfect age; pacy; 2 years settled in the UK now; scored goals for fun; £8m is not out of our reach, especially if Campbell, Ji, Saha and Wickham are all let go next summer, which seems likely.

I'd love us to go for him in January tbh. Fletcher and Hernandez.

I think the first flaw is the fee, no way will he be sold for £8million.

Second thing is, there'd be interest from Spain, massive interest.

If he was available, I'd be annoyed if we didn't at least look at it, but I feel there's an obvious scenario for the lad, if he leaves United.

Falcao to Chelsea, Hernandez to Atletico.

We would be blown away on fee, as the proposed Falcao fee is €48million.

Right about the Spain point, MM. They'd be queuing up for him over there.

I have no idea how Hernandez is behind Welbeck in the pecking order at United. Welbeck infuriates me, he has done nothing this season and he isn't fit to be on the same pitch as Rooney and RVP, his development hasn't slowed down it's flat out stopped dead. I am not qualified to judge Fergie but this one really baffles me.

I can't see Fergie allowing him to leave for any other English team, he'd fit the bindippers dream perfectly, he's exactly what they want Boringi to be but Fergie wouldn't allow it. I'll be very sad if he leaves us but he is good enough to be the main striker at a top team and I'd be fairly pissed if I was him and Welbeck was ahead of me undeservedly.

Out of our league unfortunately, but I wouldn't be upset if the club at least registered interest.

The backup strikers we currently have will get little playing time as it is with our one up front policy so not sure what incentive an established striker will have to come here? A change of playing style or European football is required to accomodate another top striker IMHO.

Nice thought and no doubt worth an inquiry think he would politely turn us down due to wages, also think he will go for more than 8mil.
How much did Utd pay for him anyway?

They paid £6million, so no way will they consider £8million, considering he's now a proven top flight in Europe striker.

Closer to £15million, and worth that, IMO.
