From the tone of his announcement, it looks like he plans to fight it somehow so we'll see.

Yeah, I know Murray was chairman. I just remember there being no information whatsoever, and I wonder if Everitt was as forthcoming then as he was in the summer just gone. I don't know the answer to that, and it's a while ago, so maybe nobody knows, but thought I'd ask

I have my own sources and we are all agreed that P rick Everett is an egotistical, self centred, wannabe bell end. The word is he thinks he is William Wallace or something watch out for his "they can take my job but they can't take my freedom" speech.

The club is better off without his crap and the I am Jesus Christ grandeur the only thing the two have in common is they both wear sandels.

I am just wandering on what these assumptions on Rick Everitt are based on.Have you ever met him Typical?Had any dealings with him?If no then your opinion of him is without substance and just based on your bet noire Charlton Life. You come across as an angry individual Typical, perhaps your fixation of CL is because you were banned from there and your hatred of CL is clouding your judgement.Your abuse of an individual who has done so much for Charlton over many years is beneath contempt and totally wrong.

If those comments Rick made were the main reason behind his sacking then he had to go simple as that. Yes he may well have done a lot for Charlton over many years but in business you are only as relevent as to what you have done lately not what you have done in the past. Do not under-estimate the negative impact Rick's comments had on the club, I follow almost 300 Charlton fans on twitter, though i'm sure there are many more out there and for weeks not days rumour of Charlton being in financial trouble which of course had co-incided with no signings at the time was causing panic and chaos amongst fans which then spreads to family and friends and the damage multiplies. All this was caused by Rick's posting on CL.

On a seperate note if you remember on deadline day a few of the players started a joke how we were going to sign Emile Heskey and yes while it was a joke was suddenly being reported by so many journalists and sports reports that this was going to happen I think it even got trending in the UK that's how far it went.....so while not on the same scale you can bet that stories of problems at the club were reaching news agencies and who knows where else and yes could well have compromised the club's perceived financial position as IA stated. For this reason I fully agree with the sacking of Rick he had to be made accountable for his actions, he may have had the club's best interests at heart and had a genuine concern but should have known better than to post the comments he did.

Whilst it would be nice to have a fan representation on the board or someone with a close link to the board, this is not always possible these days and I think it's more to do with the fact we were priviledged previously under the Murray regime to have such a close relationship with the board then that it is not always possible to have that same relationship when a new board is in place.

For me this new trust is only in place to undermine the board and attempt to force there hand to give a closer relationship to the fans. I'm not against the idea of a trust but I think the idea of it being setup is for the wrong reasons - if we were in a real threat of entering administration then yes I would agree with it but this board has gotten us out of League One where the Murray board ended up taking us and back into the Championship where we can at least hold our heads up in the football world again. Should it look as though the new board are taking us backwards then yes I would agree that a trust is a good idea but at the moment they have only ever been positive and deserve our backing, not being undermined by individuals with there own agendas or online bloggers looking to increase there followers.

If you play with fire you eventually get burned. Companies will not accept this type of behaviour from even the most minor of staff now days.

As a senior member of staff he should have known better.
