Sad news this evening that our former goalkeeper, Milija Aleksic, has passed away, aged 61

He made 25 appearances for Spurs between 1979-82, winning the FA Cup with us in '81.

Thoughts go out to his friends and family,

    RIP 'Mr Elastic'
    (1951-2012)

    Sad to hear. RIP.

Good to remember that the club has had some positive connection with Serbia. His surname's of that origin, even if he was born in the UK.

A warm minutes applause on Saturday, I'm sure. Let's just hope it's not disrupted by a few idiots....

We seem to have had more than our fair share of ex-players passing away lately. Sad news.

    Thanks Milija.
Very popular even though he didn't get many games.

Any one remember that FA cup match with Man utd at old trafford in 1980? He made an awesome save somehow getting the ball from behind him...he then got some teeth knocked out and had to be carried off...think Hoddle went in goal and ossie scored the winner...

He was in goal for my first match ... the fa cup semi final in 81 ... that team helped me cope (as a kid) with my mothers child beating husband...watching that match and the cup final win gave me pride in myself ... home and school might have been crap but I was a spurs fan.

None of them know me , none of them know how much they made a little kid smile in very dark days but I will always be grateful for them giving me some good childhood memories (and something good to talk to my kids about)

    I ain't religious but I hope he's gone to a good place...

    Cheers Milija

It was more than a few teeth, he had his jaw broken by Joe Jordan of all people. RIP Milija.

First goalie I remember against Man U I think and he made the save of the season. Bought from Luton. 61 is too young to die and I'm bloody sad. Our heroes from childhood are always seen as more important than in later years. Thank you Milija and RIP from a big fan.
