I tend not to get too bothered about Ranger and his antics anymore, he's finished at us under Pardew and with AP's 8 year deal he'll be nowhere near the first team. I'm just thankful that for every Nile Ranger there is an Adam Campbell (I follow him on twitter and he comes across as extremely dedicated and also seems hugely grateful for the opportunity he has to make it big at the toon).

Have to agree with this. I have been in said situations where you have been wrongly accused. The polices ****ty arrogant ways and their man handling of you can be pretty frustrating. When you are full of drink and hyped up, you may not make the most rational decision. So whilst its not ideal pushing over policeman I can fully understand it and it should not be blown out of proportion.

    Still a complete bell....................

When you are full of drink and hyped up and out on the town at 2am, you should not be a NUFC player, for me it's as simple as that.
Football is his profession, for which by comparison to most he is handsomely paid, not some hobby he fits around being a wannabe gangster and his social life, he needs to grow up and start acting like the professional athlete he is supposed to be or stop drawing his wages!

I agree to a point but we're kidding ourselves if we think others do not do exactly the same. I saw Shearer, Nobby and many others out at 2am in the morning. Of the current squad I've heard of tales involving Saylor, Simpson and a few others which involved being full of drink at 2am. Not ideal of course but its foolish to think they don't do it. Of course they get some slack because they actually perform on the pitch and don't act like a knob end. I'm not a big fan of our footballers getting full of drink. I don't see the need for it and its a small sacrifice to make when you consider the upside. Reality is though that a fair few of them do drink to excess at times.

My point is if you look at this scenario in isolation then he has not done a lot wrong. But what gives the story context is Nile's long list of transgressions.
