Did catts really tell tiote in the tunnel at newcastle last year that 'he was gonna get him'. before doing exactly that in the first minutes as they are saying on RTG?
If he did and almost got himself sent off in the opening minute, then thats ****e on his behalf imo. The modern game needs a different approach these days.
It really is a shame he is not playing. Cattermole is one major weakness in your side. I am not disputing his ability (he is not as good as you guys make him out to be but he is by no means bad) however his temperament makes him an easy target. Not the sort you want in a heated derby match imo
To be honest, I'm glad he's not playing. He seems to escape a red card in derbies, despite deserving one in each of the last 3. He could have easily broken a players leg in each of them. Better he's out, for both sides.
I have a horrible feeling that this may apply to Tiote too, his tantrum after getting booked against the Man Utd was pretty concerning, his self control can leave a lot to be desired at times.
Why are there so many mags on here , six replies and five from mags. Fck off ya fat geordie bastards.
Your username is so inviting we can't help ourselves Stop making threads about our players and maybe we'd visit less you clown
On the contrary mate, I think he will be a huge miss for us. Yes he got booked in the first 40 seconds at your place but his performance over the next 89 mins and 20 secs was fantastic imo. He made and arse of himself after the final whistle but for almost the whole game he was the best player on the pitch.
Kinda proves he is capable of playing without getting booked if he puts his mind to it. Your final sentence is what sums him up though. His reputation outside of Sunderland is shot to pieces. People ignore his good qualities (strength, aggression, drive, positioning, tackling) and only focus on that. To be honest, in terms of quality, Tiote and Catts are similar. Tiote is seen as clumsy whereas Catts is seen as a thug. For the record, I do think Cabaye is a bit of a cock end and has a nasty streak in him too.
20 years ago Catts would be playing for the top team in the land in that destroyer role. Sadly for him, he is playing in the 2010's and his style just doesnt sit well with modern rules and such like. If he can adapt his game (he is only 24) then he could still yet become known more for his football than his dismisals. Maybe?
Totally pathetic. He is clearly a moron, don't care what any of you say. Might be a premiership footballer but he is as thick as two short planks. He needs to drop the hard man act and stop trying to be Roy Keane if anyone is ever going to take him seriously as a footballer
Cest Going back to your point, he'd be playing for the top team in the land 20 years ago, there might be something in that. 20 Years ago, Leeds United were officially Champions of England, their midfield consisted of Strachan, McAllister, Batty and Speed. Cattermole is essentially a David Batty replica. I'm not going to compare the two player's ability, Batty was top drawer on his day and at one point was an England regular, but I don't really remember too much about Batty to be able to draw comparisons...other than the fact that they both have/had a reputation for being hot-headed players. Having said that, exactly 20 years ago, United were on our way to securing the first ever Premier League title, with a midfield of McClair, Ince, Giggs, Kanchelskis, Sharpe & Robson. Cattermole wouldn't have been fit to pick bits of **** off any of their boots, if we're totally honest.
You didn't specify which one of your players you are talking about...However, my bet is that it is Tiote.
Is that any of us that watch him regularly and KNOW the player or the Newcastle fans that all think he shoiuld be red carded for turning up?? I'd have him in my side ahead of Tiote any day of the week - Tiote is just as dirty (as was proven recently by being rested at the end of the season so he didn't pick up his 15th yellow) - Cattermole committed 1 foul and got booked against you - yet Tiote committed 6 before his yellow card (including a punch in the face and a rake of studs down the ankle) - I wouldn't swap them
