Which defenders aren't? Luiz was made an example of by Neville and Hansen and since has been labelled as poor but he's been every bit as good as Kompany and the top defenders in the world since about March/April.

As for Terry, your talking out your backside I'm afraid Luke, if anything being a Chelsea player hinders Terry. Had Drogba played for United, he'd easily have feautured or at least been up for nomination in the 20 year Premier League season awards.

Whether or not he is world class in everybodies eyes is neither here nor there, but what is not up for debate is that his performance for Wales against Scotland was amazing. As good as any performance by Messi or Ronaldo. He looked every bit a world class player.
Rightly mentioned that if Bale wanted to move in January, every team would want him. Personally from a Welsh point of view I hope he stays with you guys at Spurs - it's obviously doing him good.

Only a fool would deny his talent. As somebody mentioned (LDL I think) at his best he is as good as Messi or Ronaldo, but the key is getting that consistency (or even half of it) that they seem to have. It isn't easy for Bale as he is playing in a far more physical league where you can get away with a lot more than you can in Europe. The more technical players tend to flourish more in the CL, which is why I'm hopeful for Hazard and Oscar. It's not possible to flourish against Stoke etc where full backs will double up on you (even triple up and foul when neccesary without caution)

    Bale vs Inter
    Messi vs Arsenal
    Ronaldo vs Ajax
    Drogba vs Liverpool

Are up there with the best individual performances you'll see. No surprise they all came in the CL. I agree that at this moment in time it's better for Bale's career if he stays at Spurs.

Listen, Bale is one of my all time favourite spurs players, yet he isn't as good as Messi or Ronaldo, even at his best.

When Bale is at his best, I would say he is on the level of Robben, in terms of effectiveness and destroying teams, yet a player like Robben is capable of scoring many wonder goals, and he is one player that has all the ability in the world, plus look at his goal scoring record, especially at Bayern.

I want to see Bale become more consistent in the coming seasons, put in world class crosses, score world class goals, and I want to see him do that in the premier league and finish two seasons running with 10-12 league goals.

Bale for me has the ability to become one of the worlds best players, yet I think some are getting carried away by one performance against a dreadful Scotland side, in a game that Wales had to win.

Hopefully we will see Bale put in a world class performance against Chelsea, plus when we're struggling at home to teams like west brom & norwich, I want to see Bale use his talent (and brain) to more effect.

I was disappointed with Bale early this season, but recently he's been really good for us, he was brilliant at OT, and I don't think he (or the team) got the praise they deserved from quite a few people, including some Spurs fans.

Bale does tend to play well against them.
They always seem to end up taking off whoever starts at right-back and I can remember a few phantom injuries along the way.
Utterly ripped Ferreira to bits a couple of seasons ago at WHL, which probably isn't that surprising.

and with Ivanovic bombing forward this year, Bale has to take advantage.

  9. He's always come across as a very level-headed sort of chap, and I'm sure he's worked it out for himself that making a big-money move to a "bigger" club doesn't always work out for the best. Also, he seems to want to play football, and I cannot imagine that he would be happy (as rat-boy appears to be) sitting on Madrid's bench.

I think you'd struggle to find anyone that didn't consider Iniesta and Xavi to be in that category too, perhaps the rest are debatable.

Name a left winger that is anything like Bale, simple thing is you can't. He's quick, tall, strong, good set pieces, can cross, can dribble, can take on players and can score with his feet and head.

He is a complete player, especially in his position.

Ok if he could do samba tricks then he'd be even better but he doesn't need skills to get past players, he just runs past them like a steam train.

Bale will perform a lot better when he has (I hate to say this) better players around him due to his delivery, the amount of chances we've wasted because of players messing up their end product, not getting in the right position or basically not keeping up with him is reducing his assist stats. If he had players like Benzema, Higuain or Ronaldo to aim at I'm sure he'd have a lot more assists.

You could make a great team out of players that turned utd down.

    Bale on the wing

Gazza & Ronaldinho in the centre

    Anderton on the right

    Shearer & Linekar upfront

    No need for any defence!

There is some debate here in Spain re those two. Along the lines of, is the Barca system so successful because of them? Or is it the Barca system, and the players around them, that enable them to shine?
In other words, would they still stand out away from their current environment? There's no doubt in my mind that Messi &'Ronaldo would

Trouble is Luke Bale has completely forgotten everything he knew about defending. The last couple of times he played at LB he was shockingly bad. The same happened to Hud, who played a lot of games at CB for Derby before coming to Spurs.. As for Bale going to United, unless you broke the bank I couldn't see Levy selling to a rival club. Maybe that's why Bale seems content with life; He knows he will be either playing for Spurs and living in London or learning Spanish and wearing an Alice band...
