We have sold our 5000 allocation over 2 weeks before the game. Gunna be an electric atmosphere. Cant wait! Who's going?
I ordered mine yesterday. 2 tickets in the upper tier. Just waiting for them to drop through the letterbox!
Saw it on twitter and a leeds facebook group, but it appears that the lower tier has tickets remaining. the upper is sold out though so maybe thats where the confusion came from
Great outing, I'm looking forward to Saturday, our 2-4 win there in 2004 remains one of my favourite away games in almost 35 years of supporting City. It was pay on the gate and we'd sold 2,500 tickets, but they had no idea that another 3,000 would just turn up on the night and many missed most of the first half. Happy days.
I'm sure there was more than that. From where i was we'd filled the whole of the Leppings Lane Upper Tier, and from what i could see, the lower tier and City fans were still coming in at half time. Fantastic night.
Still the odd ticket floating about in either tier, from people returning them. Get one booked if you're not off already, it's looking like THE away game to be at this season. U18 tickets are significantly cheaper, if you're in that general age range. Wonder what sort of reception the South Yorkshire piggies will get. Who else is off?
Some of ours ended up in hospital, chants of 'murderers' and 'justice for the 96' resulted in several baton charges on the concourse at half time. They've learnt nothing.
Oinking ****jobs. More tickets available now, but they'll go fast so get in there while you can, people! http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20121015/additional-hillsborough-tickets_2247585_2949208
orginal Whats happened to your support, struggling to get over 10K for home games, and taking only mini buses away
On the subject of South Yorkshire plod, anyone know how the leppings lane end was so full at the start of that game? Still haven't read anywhere how so many extra 'pool fans ended up in the leppings lane end resulting in the crushing that took place.
Averaging over 15,200, having played no local teams yet, is hardly struggling to get over 10,00 for home games. Taking over 2,000 to your place, the Wendies and Leicester is rather more than a mini-bus too. Still, attendances are disappointing, we took almost 6400 to our last game at Hillsborough and we had higher average home attendances in our last season in League Two. Attendances are down across the board and locally, many are less fortunate than me and can't afford to do games home and away. For some reason that I'm yet to understand, our owner has decided to re-price many ticket categories and cancel all free tickets. No free tickets for our scouts, for our ex-players and even for our current players. Tickets in the posh seats go up in December too, I have five seats with a mate and they will go from £3,500 a year, to £5,400 a year. I think our gaffer might have bumped into Ken in Monaco and taken a few tips off him.
This is what I don't understand. The police were never involved in "letting fans in" nor in "checking tickets" I admit to knowing nowt about this, but did they basically order the gates to be opened to just let all the fans in because they were scared of a crush outside? Anyone remember getting into Barnsley in the 80s? All the supporters were corralled into a little corridor at the bottom of the hill, and eventually after being crushed you got to one of the 4 or 5 20-inch wide turnstile doors. It was unbelievable.
Apparently, at the Leeds-Coventry FA Cup game a few years earlier, the Police checked tickets on numerous occasions in the queues to the ground. That's the impression one gets.
