Bloody hell mate, there's a mammoth task! You may be better off asking for help on a specific thing you want to do.

Went to order another couple of the SSD drives tonight and the price has gone back up to £55. No panic for them, so I'll wait till the price comes back down.
Well the SSD is up to £63 now. I have been running my main computer off my SSD since receiving it. Windows loads really fast and seems very stable. I have changed loads of settings so Windows isn't writing to the card constantly. But there doesn't seem to be a great increase in read write speeds when copying files etc. (As I am using a separate HD as storage not that much of a problem.) Software loading has increased speed substantially, I'm not clicking and waiting for it to load any more. It may not be instant but it is much faster. As for the network plugs. I'm regretting not getting them sooner. Absolute doddle to set up. One plugged in near my router and I can plug in the other anywhere in the house. I have built a cheap media PC under the plasma, I used to run a cable to it. I now just plug in the network plug and sorted. Its main use is still for a spare wireless router I had lying around as an extender up stairs for my wireless network. I was expecting to have to have to sort out IP addresses etc. But it was simple couple of clicks and I get full speed wireless upstairs. I may get a couple more so I don't need to keep swapping the plugs round.
Way I got my feet wet was with the photoshop topsecret DVDs there are 5 of them with about 10 tuts on each, just do those and you will learn a **** load of techniques to get you started. They do cost, but i am pretty sure you can pick them up for free from places if you look hard enough.
Spot on Steve. Plus if there is a specific thing I want to do, a quick Google search brings up numerous walkthroughs.
