Found an excellent guitar shop in kyoto. Also found an ace little record shop that sold loads of grindcore and deathmetal.
Update for guitartrax - filed the nut on my Gretsch yesterday and added some Big Bends Nut Sauce to the nut slots and the bridge where the strings contact it. I am amazed at the instant tuning stability during playing, bending and more importantly after some serious Bigsby abuse. The nut sauce isn't cheap but you need very little and is outstanding. I'm now going to go around all the guitars with it.
Speaking of guitars.....guitarists....etc, did anyone see this lass at the Piper about two weeks ago?
Thanks for the tip GTT, To be honest I,ve not heard of BB Nut Sauce, but I,ll get hold of some and give it ago although in fairness the 5120 Gretsch I have really needs to be modded a bit to get closer to the authentic gretsch sound of say a Falcon,6120 etc, its something I keep threatening to do but never actually acheive it.
