best decision murray made this year was employing lendl as coach he became mentally tougher and more aggressive in his play
Think hes a bellend good at tennis (just joking I could beat some of then with my eyes shut ) but a bellend
Great shout that about Lendl becoming involved with Murrays team. Quite astonishing that he took 5 slam finals to win his first one (its taken Murray only 4) but both where just 25 when they did so. Lendl went on to play in 19 slam finals, winning 7 more titles but never Wimbledon. I think Murray could go on to win 4 or 5 more in the next 4 or 5 years too, as Federer is at the end of his reign now and Nadal seems plagued by injury and maybe destined not to compete in that many more slams. Djorkavic and Murray will dominate the game for the next 2 or 3 years at least imo, as there are no other contenders of such quality coming through. One thing I do believe, is it wont be another 75 years until we have another British grand slam title although he will have to go some to beat the great Fred Perry's record of 8 slams. If he does, then maybe in another 70 or 80 years, there will be lots of young chavs running around with Andy Murray polo shirts and sportswear on. Lol
Here we go for the final then. Murray goes a break down in his first service game, then wins the next 3 games in a row. Thats a perfect example of how the mental hoodoo has gone from his game now as in years gone past, he would have been 4-1 down by now in any other era. Djorkavic is not world number 2 for nowt but imo, there isn't a *** packet between Federer, Djorjkavic Nadal and Murray now and thats going to make for a fantastic couple of years in the sport imo.
Incredible final and well done Djokovic. Murray had 6 championship points at the end of the 2nd set and Djokovic saved them all. Brilliant stuff. Top class tennis from both players.
