True. For some reason we don't do too well against Asian sides unless they are from the Middle-East. We were unbeaten in the last World Cup finals, mind, which is something Alderney has never achieved (though Scotland have done the same once, so it's not that much of an achievement).
It was on Wikipedia. It did mention that the format has changed. I didn't realise that Muratti were a cigarette company. Why isn't the trophy called the ashtray?
I've no idea, but it would be fun if they change it to that but I think the current sponsors (who I think are still Cherry Godfrey insurance) wouldn't be too impressed. It is/was the Cherry Godfrey Muratti Vase. There's a very good reason that Alderney have never been unbeaten in a World Cup as they, along with the rest of the Channel Islands are not full members of UEFA or FIFA. Jersey has applied on at least one occasion that I'm aware of and were refused. This means that we are a County within the FA just as Hertfordshire are, and as Alderney is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey I'm guessing that they are under the jurisdiction of the Guernsey FA, which is also a county within the FA. The nearest any of the Channel Islands get to international tournament football is the Island Games against all of these: http://natwestislandgames2013.com/islands.html although it is likely that we won't be competing in the football tournament due to the costs involved - not sure if any other sports are affected.

Morning all, A bit of boom, boom in the sky overhead this morning with some very heavy showers. Made it upstairs today, not very elegantly, for the first time in seven weeks. A bit more progress and this evening have my first session with the physio. Think I overdid the 'gentle' exercises I gave myself yesterday as bits of the ankle were uncomfortable last night. Pleased to see that the work put in by the freelance journalist at Pompey is getting noted in the national press. With everyday that passes without news of ownership, one becomes more suspicious about what is going on. I also noticed that Swindon have a transfer embargo in place because they have exceeded the 65% expenditure limit on players transfer fees and wages as a proportion of their income. At least it looks as if the FL is at long last keeping an eye on what is happening. If they had been awake earlier the Pompey situation might have been avoided.
Just had a good blow out on English Fish and Chips, washed down with a glass or two of very nice Bordeaux.
Evening all. That was a naff day. Work was mind-numbingly dull, and I had to miss my graduation ceremony because the awards board took an age over passing one of my assignments. I am gutted, it looked like a great day.
Dan, really am sorry that you missed out. Should have been something to remember after all of the hard work. Have you thought about doing a second course so that you do get to a presentation?
I wasnt going to do any more. But having seen the pics I might reconsider in the future. Cheers Frenchie.
You never know for the future mate, I ended up missing my Degree and Master's ceremonies though. There is always photoshop !
hello all sorry I've not been on for a while - been a bit busy managed to get to the Valley last week - first match I've seen in nearly 2 years...however, as that was the 3-1 win @ QPR, does this make me an official lucky charm? <redwine> please - it's Thursday, the new Friday
