I personally would like to see the guy stay and play a bigger part in the final part of the season. He would be a great asset and un-expensive. especially if we lose Koren in the summer. He came with a big reputation and i have seen him play before and he can play and could do a good job in the right position in the championship.
I said before he came that he would be the new Ghilas. But I gotta say that Ghilas impressed me more than what Belaid has done
lol, forgot we still had him! I don't think that he has been given enough opportunities to impress and we don't stand to lose anything on him so worth another year surely?! Although if we can't get rid of jimmy there may not be room for him!
agree, amoo to me just seems to be pacey and not alot else? But saying that i haven't seen a great deal of him!
I'd say Belaid looks better than Amoo, but we've not really seen enough to judge either properly yet. The Belaid deal is either a release or a two year deal, I can't see him getting it unless Koren goes.
Ahh i missed that part, didn't realise that it was either a release or a two year deal! I suppose it would depend on Koren going as we will have a plethora of central players and a lack of wingers and Belaid on the wing doesn't look right!
I have always said Belaid looks a good player with some pedigree - would like to see him start against Palace now that we've little to play for. Koren does flit in and out of the game and looks disinterested at times but thats just the way he plays and its probably the reason West Brom let him go. Have a feeling he's off to pastures new in the summer and doesn't fancy another year in the NPC.
I reckon he should stay, not had the chance to show what he can do. We've seen in glimpses that he has quality, finesse, technique, intelligence, if he was to have more of a run in we could make a truely fair judgement on him. Even 2 more games is not enough to judge I believe, it's all about whether he can be consistent, put a working shift in closing down and tackling, put his body ont he line and give everything.
He should definitely get a chance on Saturday. I really feel sorry for him how much he's been overlooked in the starting XI and even as a substitute. He seems to me a very similar player to Koren except he actually gets stuck in and is interested. Can't see why he isn't in the starting XI. Oh and Il Duce - yes.
He's on short term contract, if he plays ten games he gets an automatic two year deal. He's played seven and we have two games left, so he's not going to get an automatic deal, but he may get a deal anyway, particularly if Koren goes. He's played for Inter, PSV and Slavia Prague, so he must have something about him, he also has eighteen international capos and three international goals.
He played one game for Inter and never played a competitive game for PSV, stretching the truth a bit there... No idea what to to make of Belaid tbh, we haven't seen enough of him... which probably tells its own story.
He sounds quite exciting, parallels to be made with Ramon Nunez at Leeds who's also an attacking midfielder on a contract expiring at the end of the season, as well as having had a flashy international career with not much club success to speak of. They could both be important players next season, looks like most clubs will have adopted the 4-2-3-1 formation which calls for a player like Belaid, not sure if you've been playing that way or not.
