North, Madrid, Houston - agree. I think MH is turning to him very much for his defensive qualities which is highlighted by our defensive injuries. You'd hope with a stronger defensive line MH won't want that 'extra cover' and will feel able to unleash our better attacking players. Just hope it's soon!
We all got see SWP was ****e last season but Hughes wanted to give him a fresh opportunity I think that time may be up
Just about sums it up for me. I find myself thinking before every game that this will be the one where he scores and he'll never look back again. Doesn't happen, does it?
That's pretty much where I am with him have tried giving the benefit of the doubt on the hope he may come good but has simply done nothing in the area of the field where he was brought in to do a job & therefore being carried by the team. The one thing I will say he is consistent - unfortunately it's consistently ****e.
SWP's a one trick pony with the awfulness of his first touch only surpassed by his second. Is it the name that has got him so far because apart from a bit of tackling back earlier in his career what else has he done?
That's the crux of it for me DT. Not whether he's any good or not, rather that he keeps Park out of his position on the right and keeps Hoilett on the bench!!
Awful player, 0 goals, 0 assists and nearly cost us a point against the scum. He is supposed to be an attacking player yet does nothing. People go on about Mackie and his lack of skill but he is effective. SWP is not and if you take into account his fee and wages, he is our worst signing ever. Not only is he ****, he keeps Park out of RW which means he often keeps Taarabt and/Hoilett out of the team. Taarabt has accomplished more in the last 110mins of football than SWP has done in 15 months of play for QPR, thats how bad he is.
Watch your double spacing please So you agree, hope and then get disappointed. SWP judged by goals again. Is there a pattern forming?
For me SWP had a pretty good pre-season against inferior opposition and so MH thought he would do a job for us. He hasn't and should be dropped to the bench now. Maybe coming on as an impact sub would help his confidence because he appears to have lost it. (Although the only impact he is likely to make is on the left backs arse when he runs straight up it.) Being tiny and light weight he really needs to be quick, very quick and he isn't. His ball control is at best average, his close control and first touch are worse. His distribution is OK at times, but my biggest disappointment from what i have seen is what happens when he runs with the ball, basically nothing. I watched him run straight out of play with the ball the other day, it was like watching Forest Gump, run Sean run. His shooting has been poor, consistently (14 year career, total 39 league goals!) In the 6 games he has played in the league this season, he has totaled 7 shots, none of which were on target, he has no assists, and in 6 games he has drawn 7 fouls from the opposition which doesn't suggest he has been causing them too many problems. Last year he featured in 32 league games, no goals, 3 assists.... only 13 shots on target, that's 1 shot on target every 2.5 games... FFS! I appreciate stats don't always tell the whole truth, but for a supposed winger his stats are ****ing dreadful. In his entire league career with us, Man city and Chelsea he has 35 assists, so that's less than 3 assist per season, its not great is it. His best stat as a player last year was that on average he drew 1.5 fouls a game from the opposition, if that's good enough for some you then fair enough.
I remember 2 of them, 1 was a 5 yard square pass with no one anywhere near him which smith whacked into the top corner. Another was a poor ball which a defender mis headed it and put a player clean through. Cant remember the 3rd but Im sure that no quality at all will be involved. Both were pub level assists just for being there, nothing like Graneros assist in the last game for example.
Flyer the other one was against Wolves where he mis controls and it falls to Zamora. It's a shame that SWP is getting so much stick as it is more to counter Dave's ramblings. SWP and I repeat SWP is not in the slightest the reason why we are in the mire, he is an extremely limited player and that's it - we've had many of those before, just that previously no one has decided to deliberately goad the forum by stating that Marc Nygaard was excellent, as was Doudou, as was Butterworth, as was Kojoe - get my drift DT? Please lay off defending him with the obvious unwillingness to see what's in front of you and then all will lay off the poor limited bas....!
Great, so he had 3 assists, one which and arthritic granny could do which was a 5 yards square pass, one which was really set up by the opposition defender and one which was a mistake on his part. Ive seen one bit of decent play from him and that was the disallowed goal against WBA, every other game he just loses possession or passes backwards.
