Well lucky for you the season is over by October. Shelvey is one of our best midfielders, some people place him on the bench as is hard for him to compete with Gerrard, Lucas, sahin and Allen. A world class midfield. Unlike Swansea, where Dyer is selected ahead of Gareth Jones or some other randomly useless Welshman.
Here we go. Lost the argument so resorts to abuse and the good old "deluded" jibe. Swansea are above us in the league for five minutes and now your players are better than ours- and you call us deluded? Also, one minute England managers favour big clubs and the next minute were not a big club any more? Get a grip, sunshine. At least keep your nonsense consistent.
You are a big club but have an average team. FACT England managers favour Liverpool players over players who have achieved far more because of their perception that big clubs have all of the best players. FACT. Shelvey and Sterling don't deserve their caps and Shelvey in particular will never make an international standard footballer. Too petulant. FACT Your fans started calling me names first. By your logic, because I won the argument based on his career stats. FACT Most of you are deluded twats. A quick browse through your board and you'll find all kinds of excuses, conspiracy theories and blame directed at Fergie and Man U for stuff that happens in your games. FACT Kisses
A minority, we don't all think like that and you won't find me subscribing to conspiracy theories ( though I do think we're perceived as the bad boys all the time and get undue stick because of that). But how about we stick to the argument at hand rather than throw in a few random insults and accusations? Personally, I'm pleased for one of our players that he gets some recognition- only time will tell if he's worthy of it or not. My issue with you is this; England have a system whereby they watch potential players quite a bit before picking them so they have a good idea of their potential. I seriously doubt whether you've watched Shelvey for more than a few minutes of highlights here and there yet you expect us to believe that you know him better because you can google up a few stats? I wouldn't make such an assessment of one of your players because I don't watch them that much. I might have an opinion, but I wouldn't try to present it as fact against someone who watches every game. P.S. I'd rather you called me a twat than blow kisses at me
Oh wow... Basing a 20 year olds ability on "Career Stats" wow... According to Wikipedia (the source you were using last) Heskey has scored more goals in his career than Neymar has; by your logic this does imply that Emile Heskey is more of a proven goal scorer than Neymar is? Please also note, this is pretty much Shelveys first breakthrough year.
You need a bit of the devil in you to be a good footballer, as much as I agree that Shelvey is not International standard yet he looks like he is improving all the time and may well be a star of the future. I think it's to early to be able to tell but he certainly shouldn't be written off.
saintanton So how does that comment fit into a thread about England midfielders? Smacks of childishness, lack of intelligence or even worse, both.
I might give the old boots a polish this weekend... If Shelvey can get an England call then I think anyone has a shot :S
Am I the only one here who think Carrick, Cleverly and Shelvey are (or have the potensial to be) great midfielders?
