Both. Wonga will have people wandering around promoting their shirts, probably about 25000 people all gathering in one place bearing their name, while Ashley will get the direct profit from shirt sales. And we get our stadium back. Like MONs said, this just works perfectly for everyone.
I'm the first to have a laugh at a bit of decent banter, don't mind the piss being taken out of my club in a light hearted way, but that picture really isn't funny. Unless of course you're referring to the large number of dark skinned players in our team and being racist by calling our stadium "the chocoloate factory", in which case I will concede it is quite clever He's an amazing businessman, no one will question that. Getting money to have the name how it was when he took over, genius.
Oh aye no doubt it works for everyone, I just can't help but feel this is a bit of a climb down. bit different to the 10m a year for naming rights we were told was on the way. Whereas Wonga may make a bit out of lads walking round with the shirt on, Mike stands to make a hell of a lot more!
Well the people in charge of Wonga are sure to know what they're doing in business aswell, and they must see the benefit in this! Proof will be in the pudding but let's see if this (8million a year?) is invested into the team as was originally promised. I won't be holding my breath but will wait till the transfer window to make judgement.
I dunno, I marked down as needing a quality check. I think it's too easy to see Gene's crazy hair not attached to the great ones head. Respect for using the correct Wonka though. Depp did okay but Gene is a genius.
Lets be honest here , it's not the sponsors name across the chest we all care about. It's the badge on the left breast that matters to fans of both clubs. But we have had some fun with this one
Afternoon lads. I'm pleasantly surprised by the stadium move and whilst the name Wonga is a bit ropey... the SJP return plus the extra investment is the perfect offset in my opinion.
The Harvard Business Review have recently described Wonga.com as having the worst business model in the world. They argued that the lending company were strategically, economically, competitively and ethically bankrupt and criticised the extortionate levels of interest and fees they charged for their products; ripping off and taking advantage of their customers without regard for their ability to pay. Never have 2 such different organisations been so perfectly matched imo.
Cant stand Wonga and what they do and hope the government close it and companies like it down. Would rather Go Compare.
Wonga and companies like it only exist because people cannot manage their own lives and have made an opening in the market for them to thrive. It's business, when all's said and done, morally bankrupt it may be, but I doubt there shareholders give 2 ****s whilst wiping there arses on 20's (that were 5ers only 3 days earlier...)
] I understand all that, just think some people need to be protected of themselves as they are either desperate or idiotic (or both). Would rather have Sports Direct on the top.
Haha understand your point, but Wonga cant have been only option so sure we would still have got money in. Even if it was less i would take it over Wonga. But meh, cant do out about it anyways now.
Dealing crack & smack is also a business in a thriving market supplying a massive demand, making milions off other peoples misery. The two sound very similar to me.
To be fair who would have thought that two teams like everton and aston villa would have asian companys sponsoring them!! One is a beer company the other is a casino!! They are two founder football league members aswell yet no furore over there dealings.
