Thnx for the great work Nuts and Bricks and pleased you're receiving the recognition for your undoubted efforts. However please promise that this draws a line under these terminal "do you really want me" affairs, I actually think that the debate on here as at its finest and mostly due to high tensions surrounding our club more than anything. And enough about singling out- with all due respects low level point scoring posters, the only poster that I personally found truly hilarious and hated at the same time was none other than Mr. ABITB, now that was a count worth having a poll on!

Come on you rrrs and hurry up with that 7 seater taxi for Mr.Hughes - I don't care if it is a 30 pound min fare!

I've voted 'A' as I'm desperate to make sure this excellent forum keeps running and retains its very worthy mods. I still think this is yet another storm in a teacup however. We should all just be grown up enough to ignore remarks and/or posters that we are not happy with. The mods job should ideally be limited to just preventing spamming or other forms of spoiling.

Completely agree. This whole episode is needless drama imo.

The mods know 99% of posters here like them and think they do a good job. A poll reinforcing this really wasn't necessary.

Now can we please sweep all this pointless crappola under t'carpet and get back to what we do best - supporting a hopeless, struggling, under-achieving football club.

 

A...you both do a great job keeping the cr*p off this board, and dealing with the inappropriate when it is posted so please continue.

 

I will Vote A. I agree with much of the comments made by Bob, Aaagh, Dave, Flyer and others. I have no doubt the Mods are doing a difficult job very well. Mods shouldn't need us all to agree all the time, opinion is very diverse. I don't see that Swords should be banned, and think unbanning him was the correct result of the vote on it, but that's just my opinion, I have no problem if the Mods have another. We need to have Mods to make these decisions for us. All respect to Nuts and Brix for keeping this Board interesting and fun.

Its sad that Brix and Nuts felt the need to do this as they do a brilliant job imo. I think we all need to do our bit to reduce the strain by self moderating - at the new rules state.

Brix and Nuts, you have my 100% support in any decision you feel necessary.

 

It's (usually) a thankless task, requiring lots of hard work. You both do a good job and have my full support.

In an ideal world there would be NO Mods. If certain people on this board could manage to self-moderate, it would make things so much easier. The problem is that over the last 6 odd months several threads have descended into individual battles between a tiny minority of members often resulting in verbal attacks on a person’s religious/cultural beliefs or sexual orientation. In anybody’s world, some of these comments were simply unacceptable.
I fully understand that what annoys one person can be seen as funny by another. What is intended as a light hearted joke by one person can be seen as highly offensive by another. That’s the difficult part here. Trying to keep everybody happy. It's impossible. SWORDS is a unique case. He consistently gnawed away at certain posters. Intimidating them, isolating them and in some cases seriously offending them. It left us Mods with a very difficult decision to make. Do we uphold the basic rules of this board and protect an innocent non-offending member or do we turn a blind eye and let personal insults become the norm on this board. Both Brix and I have received numerous PMs complaining about his behaviour. He was given several chances. Maybe too many. He openly admitted that he was deliberately wumming. He openly admitted that he was deliberately antagonising other members for his personal amusement. What did you expect us to do DT?
Brix and I come to the difficult decision to ban SWORDS. In a way it should have been a permanent ban as he has already been given his final warning. He was NOT banned for any one individual comment. It was a culmination of several incidents. Let’s be very clear about one thing DT, at NO stage did either Brix or myself feel we had made a mistake. We felt that the rules needed tightening up. There was way too much bulls**te on this board. We were not sure if the members wanted these additional guidelines. We both were getting fed up of dealing with sh**e almost on a daily basis. By accepting these new guidelines you are basically allowing us to take a firm but transparent response to offenders.
If you want free speech go to General Chat. This is a QPR forum where people can talk about whatever they want as long as they show respect to others. By using this forum, a person is bound by a set of rules. WE might not like them but they are very necessary. Stay within the rules like 99% of our members do and the Mods become redundant.

SR, it's not about being liked, although the support is very much appreciated. We could not continue to Moderate this board without these new guidelines being accepted by the vast vast majority. It was becoming ridiculous. Although some on here have seen this thread as unnecessary, the acceptance of these guidelines will help us greatly going forward and allow us to maintain decent acceptable standards without being questioned every time on our decisions.
