Newcastle 1 QPR 0 - Mark Hughes' first game, no obvious improvement, in fact not even a shot of any worth to mention of. What struck me was that being only 1 goal down and we didn't even give it a go was surprising. By the way, Newcastle lost their best player in the 1st half to an horrendous Derry foul which was a leg breaker and deserved red.
A.Villa 2 QPR 2 - A mid week match and much was made about Cisse always scoring on his debut. SWP took a shot from outside the area which struck 2 players before falling to Cisse on right hand edge and he instinctivelt struck into bottom corner. Warnock headed an hilarious own goal and I thought here we go - only for QPR to spend the rest of the match treating Villa as if they were Barca, in the end totally fortunate to come away with 50% of Hughes' away points.
QPR 3 Wigan 1 - We beat a side who at this point were even worse than us. Not as comfortable as might seem as from coasting Rodallega's free kick really instilled some obvious nerves in the side.
QPR 1 Everton 1 - SWP outstanding? You don't set the bar particularly high do you! Remember this match most for Kenny's howler against Drenthe and Buzacky miss. Oh and you'll probably remember Tarrabt producing 2 great crosses, one for Zamora to head in and the other for someone to head 8 yards wide from 6 yards out- yep you've guessed it SWP!

Defeats to Wolves,Blackburn and Fulham we were crap - If you're saying SWP was outstanding then so be it -

And now to be honest I'm bored DT - What are you trying to do here? You are aware that you are not the only eloquent well read and equally versed person on this forum don't you?

You may well think it's judicious to keep MH, that is well taken and an attitude that does you credit. I do not want MH simply because he will never take this beautiful club we love forward. I certainly hope more due diligence is performed than the many years of mediocrity we have suffered.

What I don't believe does you credit is how you defend your stance claiming something which is so patently untrue as true. That Sir is for past tyrants and despots which I am absolutely sure you do not purport to be. You have put an awful lot of time to your OP which is frankly drivel.

Dave, if I may be so bold as to call you that, chill out, you're ultimately going to end up in a corner and we all know how it ends when enraged animals end up there!

And by the way, SWP is one of the worst exponent of this game I have seen when you consider the money he has earned/defrauded -maybe I'll always be tarnished by being so close to his Daddy that night against City!

Your bored Danish you haven't watched the games have you.
To brush off and say we were crap is as shallow as most on here.

Watch and look at what he has had to work with and look at the details

This exercise was again to look at what the **** fans on here are talking about . I consider a opinion that washes over the facts to be drivel

So bring it on ... Contribute debate

DT - For my pains I've watched every single match and for my sins have one of these memories that remembers all too much. Now as you can see from the initial response the memories are far more detailed than you're wishy washy comments and not plaguerised in any way. DT, I've conceded you have an excellent attitude to stand up for what you believe to be right, even if I believe you to be mistaken in your judgement however you will soon lose your credibility if you take the brief of defending SWP.

It wasn't my header DT, it was SWP's, to be honest SWP is not someone I really want to spend too much time thinking about as it becomes quite upsetting at how such a man with no talent came about to have the opportunities as he's had.

I'm there with DT, or thereabouts: I don't understand the level of abuse aimed at SWP. He's not been as good as I thought when we bought him but I think the criticism is way over the top. I know this is not a widely held view but there you go...

Swp can trap a ball much further than some can kick it!!
It doesn't really matter what Hughes did or didn't do last season, as we lost against two of the teams that went down!
What matters is here and now, and as it stands, results haven't come and that is the ONLY thing that counts as a manager!

Yep it´s not a widely held view but you have your opinion and we thank democracy for that, I on the otherhand think he is s**t and the only good thing I can remember him doing was score a great volley last season only to be wrongfully ruled out for an incorrect offside decision - can´t remember anything else positive and I hate his big-mouthed old man even more. That is my opinion........now he will probably play a blinder against Everton!!!.....then again he probably won´t!!!

    Trap a football .. Please

I intend to show the posters here that SWP is worth a lot more than the throw away comments. In the process I hope also help you understand how SWP can go from a player QPR could never sign . I hope to show you that it's you suffering and the infection is to be treated .

Alas I off to dinner and on route now to a dinner thing ... Stack them up

Hope we have a good debate as I think you are being too harsh on a good player ... A QPR player

    Please watch the games again

Dt how do you intend to show us when he can't himself!
Its funny really cos a lot of people i know just say he is a poor mans Aaron lennon! He turns up at a club has a couple of good games then warms the bench picking up his pay packet and the same will happen here. You ask any football fan who they would rather start with, SWP or Hoillet and the vast majority will say the latter.

Count me in. He's had good games and bad games but so have many others. I think he's an easy scapegoat for people. He has often been asked to take on other positions and roles by Hughes that are not his natural position. Decent squad player but overused by MH.

My patience has run out with him. I'll be amazed if he's not dropped after Saturday. Woeful. He's a meant to be a flying winger in the team to create and score goals, no goals no crosses nothing from him since he's been with us . And then I read experts<laugh> on a football forum saying he's doing well. I'd disagree, and with the money involved, I make him QPR's worst ever signing. Woeful.

I don't believe Mark Hughes should go. Not at all.
    ...
    ...
But Shaun Wright Phillips is S**T.
He did not contribute defensively against WBA, and made f**k all happen in attack.

It's just a different view and with that quote exactly shows what people fail to see and you sarcastically mock others as 'experts'. It's a different opinion that's all but you don't acknowledge the number of times MH has used him in more defensive roles our as an outlet to just run and take ground (Norwich last year for example). Perhaps MH sticks with him because when asked he does just what is asked without worrying about the criticism.
Don't get me wrong I expect much more and shouldn't be first choice as the 'flying winger' but he doesn't deserve the criticism pointed at him.

    SWP is puzzling.
He had a good preseason and I thought his confidence in scoring would have spurred him on.
I am in the minority by saying I feel he has the ability but rarely shows it with us.
Had helped in defense this year and has had a few signs of what he is capable of.
BUT he should not be a first choice for the team sheet.
Decent squad player and sub to bring on.

    Don't worry I wasn't having a pop at you.
SWP is getting picked as a defender basically by our negative manager, and as he was sh1t at that as well at WBA, I can even see the penny dropping with him. It'd better <ok>
