They were totally different times to the crisis we now face TB as well you know! Burley was a Town legend before he arrived and he brought back the free flowing attacking football that he played as a footballer. Johnny took a punt on Bobby and luckily it worked out and the rest as they say.. I never wanted Burley to leave and I was disgusted at the way he sacked in the end. We gave him no time at all to turn things around and yet we are giving this clueless ****er all the time he needs to send us down!

No you haven't you wrinkly little penis, you're **** stirring. Either that or typing your usual bollocks.

I've also raised points that haven't been mentioned yet. In fact why am I explaining myself to you?

Why don't you go and figure out how your own team might win a game. May I also suggest that you play with carrier bags on your own, there's a good boy x

In regard to the "Old Boy" policy, or as I previously mentioned a current incumbent combo, at least they would be aware of the hurt the fans are feeling. Restore some pride, understand the tradition of the type of football and hopefully would be able to see what's wrong.

In essence, we've got a fairly good squad for this league. The management and coaching are seriously lacking. With a freshen up and an injection of belief I swear we can finish 15th...

managers need to get results regardless of where the club is in the league when they take over so our current situation doesnt alter things for me.
Burley was a Town playing Legend but a total non-entity manager with 20 games under his belt at Colchester yet that worked out fine. I would prefere to take the chance on a risk personally but each to their own.

sorry warky, but i've contributed sensible debate on this thread, so i find his extreme swearing and general gibberish aimed at myself a little on the weird side, though it is amusing.

Yes but he wasn't an unknown was he! He knew this club inside out, the set up, the expectations and he was brought up playing for an exceptional manager so harldy a huge risk would you say? You cant possibley compare the Burley appointment with one of te non-entities that you are championing!

Thats rather impressive thinking I havent said who I wanted to take over!
Mind reading are you? All I have said is that I think Tisdale has done a very good job and has a lot of potential but havent said that he is or is not on my wishlist.

    let me guess. he's a non-entity? <doh>

i think you may need to broaden your horizons warky. your current manager was very well known and had managed some big clubs before. has he done a good job for you?

Our current manager had a better record (before joining ITFC) than Mick McCarthy has so it beggars belief why anyone would think McCarthy is the answer..

i've said before on here i think mick mccarthy would keep you up this season, i really do. if your next appointment is all about staving off the threat of relegation then it makes sense as an appointment, but long term would he be any better than jewell? not sure, but i don't think so. whoever you appoint (and you will appoint someone soon - jewell is a dead man walking) will be a gamble.

Then put your swear filter on or **** off to your own page.

And my rancour is not always aimed at you, you narcissistic fool. You just like to think it is.

You've got yourself down as some footballing impresario, fair enough, although I think you're a wind bag, full of soundbites and not particulary astute.

I'm on the message board of the club I support, don't try to tell me what I can and can't do precious, you make yourself look like a dick <ok>

And I'm still wondering why you spend more time on here than on your own page? Says a lot........

To all other ITFC contributors (bar Tractor Bhoy) sorry for the disturbance on this thread x

Something else you are presuming JWM. You appear to know me better than I know myself with the amount of posts you put up with my supposed thoughts on.
Supers - It all depends on what mandate the club is looking at, and as it is Evans that is the major problem for me rather than the manager (notice I said major problem not only before JWM assumes something else) then I think it could be a difficult time
Managers fit different situations, some are fine on a budget but useless with money (from our past Jim/ Burley) some have a great eye for talent spotting but need the money behind them to succeed (Redknapp I wouldnt trust although some on here think he's great) some would lead to stability but I cant say would ever inspire (JWM's beloved MM for me) some could achieve greatness over a number of years but may require time and patience (GOD for example (otherwise known as SBR, who was facing calls to be sacked for several seasons here))
Poeple dont seem to look further than peoples current/ last experience or at which club these acheivements have been at. A current favourite seems to be the guy from MK Dons but again they have a great budget and backing and he is purely keeping them on the same track that the likes of Paul Ince was on but nobody is suggesting his name!
My main choices are not realistic (Mowbray and Adkins, who I wanted when he was at Scunthorpe) so if we were going to give a manager time (hardly likely these days) and based on a tight budget then I would consider Sean Dyche as an option. Solskjaer has a decent record but I know little about how he operates or whether Molde to Ipswich is a massive step down. Keith Curle is currently doing a very good job but again I know little about how he has achieved his results. Greg Abbott at Carlisle has a good record and going on the game we played against them it seems like they have a very good style of play.
I would rule out Curle due to the short time frame he has had a good run over and Ole so that leaves me with Dyche & Abbott, with Tisdale probably thrown in as well. I hadnt really considered him as a likely candidate but looking through the list of managers around he probably does inspire me more than I thought.
