The 23-year-old was one of the few performers for QPR as Hughesâ side struggled to match high-flying West Bromwich Albion, falling 2-0 behind at half-time. Taarabt, who scored a long-range strike in a 2-1 loss to West Ham United a week ago, produced a sharp turn and volley to give the visitors some hope of an unlikely fightback. Hughes dropped the former Tottenham playmaker following a 5-0 loss to Swansea City on the opening day of the Premier League season, but the Welshman has been impressed by the Moroccanâs recent form since returning to first-team action. âI thought Adel was excellent for us,â Hughes told QPRâs website. âHe came back against West Ham and performed really well from the bench, so he fully-merited his place in the starting line-up on Saturday. âHe was one of the few bright sparks for us, along with Ryan Nelsen who I thought was absolutely outstanding. âWe need everybody to put in performances which will allow us to get results. At the moment we havenât got that platform to build upon.â Hughes revealed QPR will use the international break to âre-emphasiseâ the fundamentals in training and eradicate the mistakes which have hampered the Hoopsâ start to the campaign. âWe havenât got many players away during this break so we will make sure that we put the work in on the training pitch and re-emphasise the fundamentals which we have been talking about for the last few weeks,â he added. âWe have to make sure that nobody is in any doubt about exactly what is required from them. âWe are not happy with the situation we find ourselves in because we believe we are a better side than that.â
Tarbs is first name on the sheet for me at the moment....he is scoring goals and looks like the only player who is desperate to win. Hopefully the team will start to pull together and he will really shine.
Why play Hoilett (one of the brightest young players in this division), when you can play the past it, Shaun Wright "I just run into the fullback" Phillips??!!
This is exactly it, one minute not playing him for 4 games in a row preffering anyone else and then suddenly after a game and a half he's wonderful again. Sorry but mixed messages or what! Right now Mr.Hughes' entourrage would be best served by insisting their esteemed leader stop providing unnecessary consultant like sound bites to the media and concentrate on getting this group of proffesionals to play together as such.
or just cuts inside and blasts a shot into a defender who is 1 yard away from him. Id love to know if theres a stat for shots blocked.
Has he though CCJ? Hughes alluded to that but Adel himself said he wasn't injured Hughes should have asked us on here about Taraabt. He would have been told that his strengths are not tracking back, working hard in training and 'going the extra mile'. No Mark you're barking up the wrong tree. What he is, is a narky, mollycoddled genius prone to hissy fits. Thats the script and it ain't gonna change any time soon. But 2 stunners in 2 games shows what we need. He produces in 30 seconds what JSP & SWP fail to achieve in 90 minutes.......only someone Completely Clueless could fail to see that..............
I think he has changed, hes tracking back more and he scored a great goal and didnt even celebrate. I think hes finally realised its about the team winning and not him. He is slowly changing.
