I'm not too sure yet Snowy - I think he has got better with each game (was very good at QPR). Nigel Pearson knows him very well, and he was Leicester Player of the year when they got in Play-offs. Dont be surprised if he turns out to be the best of the four next season!! Hope we sign him so we can judge him fairly next season.
Like I say, they are all very good at Championship level and there isn't much between them all ability wise. I'm not too sure he'll be the best next year, but I agree he has got better and better each game. I would like to see us try to get him (obviously AFTER Ayala) but if it approaches 1 million, forget it! The difference between Hobbs and Chester is that, Hobbs is too similar to Gerrard and Ayala in the way he plays the game. Where as Chester covers up his partner and sniffs out danger before it even appears and I think the balance between a big man and a technical man works perfectly. Or another partnership could be Hobbs and Ayala...
I've heard that Hobbs wants to stay. Yorkshire winger and a left sided United, not sure if they are same player. Young fullback/s cover and 'some height', hopefull a striker. Most of the targets are well into discussions.
They've already lost McLean, Mackail-Smith is heavily linked with a move away from London Road and Joe Lewis (GK) has been placed on the transferr list. There's 3 of their best gone, why would they let 4 go...
I have a bit of an issue with our midfield. We have Harper, Evans and Koren, none of which look anything like midfielders when they play there, they just look wrong. Harper and Evans each have no particular strengths at all. If we sign Danns this can be helped but I'm not comfortable with Evans being our best midfielder. He's OK, doesn't make mistakes but he brings nothing special to the team.
