Welcome back, we missed you. Have you won a game, or something? <ok>

I think you will find the post xmas slump has been exported to Hudderfailed.

I suppose one advantage of your own start to the season is that second half slumps are less of a worry ;)

Leeds United are being reported to be bringing in Peterborough United winger George Boyd on loan with a view to a permanent move in January.

The Sun newspaper are reporting today that Peterborough have agreed a deal to join Leeds on loan before making the move permanent in the summer in a deal worth around £750,000.

Boyd was placed on the transfer list by Peterborough in the summer after turning down a new deal at London Road.

He was linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer and fellow championship sides Burnley and Ipswich Town were also reported to be interested in signing the 27 year old.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock is desperate to bolster his attacking options and Boyd, who can also play in attack, has netted 71 goals in 275 appearances for Peterborough.

Despite being on the transfer list, Boyd has played in all twelve of Peterborough`s games this season, scoring three times.

Boyd's a much better player than people on here have given him credit for. The question is, can we get better value for money elsewhere?

I think he's overrated by many, but right now I don't really see a better option unless money comes in.

    ----------Becchio McCormack
    Boyd-----Austin----Brown-----Diouf

Would that be too attack minded? However, if we couldn't include them all in the same starting 11, i still wouldn't complain as to be a realistic promotion candidate you need quality options from the bench and options to overcome loss of form/injuries.

He scores goals, creates goals, works hard and provides trickery and flair which we sometimes lack. He isn't particularly quick and won't win much in the air, granted, but he's good on the ball and he's got to be better than Varney on the left!

My favourite thing about it is the fact that Luci is the last striker you'd expect to take a pen like that.

I'll give you all that (apart from possibly the working hard part) but he's always struck me as Snodgrass but with slightly less skill and without the strength to make up for the lack of pace. Not that this means he isn't a good player, but with the right resources there's still better out there IMO. I'd still have him over no-one.

I wish he'd stay on his feet more, or learn from Diouff

My Dad lives down in Peterborough so I've been to a fair few Peterborough games over the last 5 years or so. He's a harder worker than you think, although in the same way as Gradel, just because he tries to defend doesn't necessarily make him good at it. He is a good player at this level though, although as you say, there are undoubtedly better options out there. He's not particularly strong, or quick, you're right, but he is skilful, uses the ball well and his movement is generally pretty good. As you say, take him over no-one. <ok>
