On Gale - as said previously he said Villa were unlucky, then a few minutes later he says that they were very poor- which one is it Tony? I think we all know, obviously he's having a bit each way.
Where is it set in stone that we have to have a clear number 1? Lloris is long term, Friedel will leave at the end of the season so swapping between the two doesn't have to be a major issue if both play well.
Gale isn't the only anti-Spurs commentator. I love listening to Stan "the man" Collymore commentating on our games. He finds it almost impossible to give us any praise, and he will jump at every opportunity to slag us off. Roy Keane is also bitter.
Sturridge is quite good and is complementary to Spurs. Apparently he was doing the Mousers match yesterday, when Suarez dived. The commentator said he slipped- Sturridge said "slipped, that's a good word for it"
Think AVB has handled the Lloris thing well actually, and I seriously hope that his selection policy does not include standing in the changing room drifting a finger from Brad to Hugo with a grin on his face whilst they look on expectantly. No, I would hope that as for everything else (or so it appears) he planned how to deal with this and that the keepers were in on this. Lloris, and as has been mentioned before he came in late, has taken his time to get to know the squad and playing in the Europa has gained "live" experience. I also wonder if the almost full defensive back line in Greece was in preparation for Saturday so that the first time on the field together wasn't a home EPL game (I believe Lloris and Gallas have already played for France together). If this was the plan and the future is understood for both of these guys then fair play AVB, integrated over time with minimal risk helped by the fact that Brad has been in great form.
Couldn't agree more with both points. Both are great keepers with different strengths, AVB felt Lloris needed a league game and it's fair to say it was a great game for him to start his league career for us in. Bar the dodgy throw, he dealt with everything comfortably (not that there was much to be fair). You can see how useful his speed over Brad is, about 3 times yesterday he left his box to clear ball that been knocked forward by Villa. Was funny at one point as we were chanting "Huuuugooo, Huuuugooo", took him about 2-3 minutes to realise we were saying his name and he finally gave us the thumbs up and smiled. Back on topic to Gale - He's just a pr*ck. Luckily I don't get to hear much of his sh*t as I'm down the Lane but he's just a typical anti-Spurs commentator/ pundit that can quite frankly do one.
I was a bit surprised by the punch when the shot came directly at him yesterday, thought he would catch that. Was an audible gasp at the ground!
Yep, it's something I think you'll find more common from Continental keepers. I guess they feel it's safer than trying to catch the ball. As in most things it's whatever gets you results. In Robbo, Gomes, Brad and Lloris, we've had some different styles of keeping for sure in recent years.
Why haven't Spurs got rid of Gomes? He will obviously never play a first team game again now. Did he sign a very lllonnnnggg contract?
DO NOT F*CKING JINX IT!!! If Lloris, Freidel and Carlo are struck down with a virus now, I'm coming for you DL!
Can I just add, at this point, that Adrian Durham, a presenter on Talk5hite, is a complete and utter twat?
