Got to say I would be over the moon with a draw.

I think we can win. They've not scored more than one goal in a game, and even if we play poorly, we can still score 2+ goals in a game.

We have Ba in form and Ben Arfa there. If we have our defence back to full strength, I can see us keeping a clean sheet.

Don't be negative. I wish people would stop committing knee jerk reactions because of yesterday.

Oh yeah, Apologies. Forgot about that game. But I think you Sunderland fans would agree you're not threatening the opposition enough.

Plenty of awful football, a draw.

That is true Tash, though we've been relatively solid in defense. Neither of us have played well this season, yet both have made steady starts. On the day, it really could go any way. Here's hoping for an exciting match with plenty of bad challenges from both sides- which is probably the safest prediction I could make (well the tackles anyway).

Here's to hoping we don't return the favour Sunderland are intent on giving us each year, a sending off! <cheers>

Went for the Toon win, but wouldn't mind a draw to be honest. Keeps us all happy and the more primitive members of our respective clubs from throwing their own **** at each other...

This derby seems far too important for my liking.

At the moment we can say that we have had 4 very tough fixtures out of the first 7, endured an injury crisis and a general wobble coming out of the gates. We are still in the top half, 3 points off the european places and holding our end up in Europe. 3 points in the first match after the break, and a morale boosting win over the local rivals at that, and we start looking upwards and onwards.

Get thumped and it may be a long, long season

Draw even though I have gone for a win in the poll (couldn't bring myself to choose any other option!). They are a team we should be looking to beat if it wasn't a derby. That is not chucking bait out for the mackems, just having watched them and listened to my mates that have the disease, they have been really poor so far. They are very fortunate to have the points they've got. Fletcher is a threat but they haven't got much else at present. I'll be straight here, I think their central midfield is ****e and this is where we should be able to control the game. Cattermole is decent but with him suspended they have no bite. If Tiote and Cabaye can't take care of a combination of either Vaughan, Gardner, Larrsson, Meyler, Colback then I'm a bit worried!

They do have a good home record and beat a lot of the big sides season on season, and you'd have to think they are due something against us. But I say this every season and we usually end up with 4 points from two games.

All true, but of course we've been very poor this season and are lucky to have the points we've got.

If you want to be upbeat, you can point to the fact that the derby should be the first game this season when we'll have our strongest 11 available (assuming international injuries are not devestating), but frankly no one, except maybe Ba, has been at the level we'd grown to expect of them last season. I can see any result from this match.

Neither team have started well. I'm going for a draw and like Top Tier I would like to see Shola start.
I'm hoping Krul, Colo and Saylor are back because we need them.

This wont go down well, however I think Sunderland will win because our defence cant deal with crosses and Martin O'Neils sides are very direct.

I've been usually wrong for some time now since the electrostatic charges stopped after the rain.

Draw or Newcastle win for me. I expect some backlash after that first half v United but also think Sunderland will be well up for it.

It should be a cracking game and IMO is the best we have in the Premier League at the moment.
