I reckon Nick will be going home today for a week and a half. Might do him good. As for 'being a loner', nah he's fine. He gets on well with the lads and he's a nice bloke. I think at half time he just sees benefit in being on the pitch and touching a ball rather than sitting in a cramped dressing room.
I find it all very odd. Can't be good for his confidence when he is on the looks of it 4th in the pecking order behind Fryatt,Aluko, Simpson and Mclean. His chance will undoubtedly come in the FA Cup, he better hope he scores or I can't see him getting in the team.
I thought he did ok when he came on.. still obviously adjusting to life in England although from what I've heard from him he speaks excellent English. He is a ball player who should suit our style (although a big strong No9 would be an asset to the team as well) and will come good .. I hope..
I think he is homesick. I see us loaning him back to a german team either in jan or at the end of the season.
I saw him at half time during one home game looking extremely lonely, that was when Dawson completely blanked him when Nick went over to chat, I think that might of been the Bolton game. However apart from Dawson blanking him and since then he has seemed fine before the game and at half time gets on with a lot of the lads seems to have a laugh when they are doing shooting before the game and things. It must be hard coming to a completely different country for the first time in his career, settling in in the country is what Steve Bruce wants him to do first, I don't think he has been bought to get us promotion but looking onwards as well. He will settle properly, then get his head down football wise and I am sure he will become succesful with us.
Yes, but the Germans regard Switzerland as part of Germany (as indeed they do France, Austria, Poland, Russia etc) and there are many long established German communities in Switzerland (as indeed there are in South America and under the Antarctic polar ice cap - apparently!). I have every faith he will come good in the second half of the season.
A guy I used to work with came up with the phrase "Eggy Air" which is the state one would get into by "pulling the head off it" that often in a short length of time so that nothing comes out but a deflated "plllffffttt".
