I am against changing managers too so okay lets wait to December. However look at the facts: We only stayed up by luck last season, Although we won the last 5 games we only beat Liverpool and Stoke by the skin of our teeth or we would be in the championship now. Hughes had a whole pre-season with the squad. We all knew some of the players we were buying were old and likely to get injured and that is what has happened. Lost at home in the first game to an average team and was the worst home result in 40 years. Worst start to the season ever. No away win in 9 months. Can't think of another team that has had a record like that. Bought Green and now he is warming the bench. Defense looks all over the place. Don't look like we have enough goals in us. Got Hoilett when many clubs wanted him but plays Wright-Philips instead. Park has got worse and worse. Does not use substitutes quick enough when a change of formation is needed. (Cost us the West Ham game) If it has got no better by December than TF better wake up and do something quick.
We did not stay up by luck. We stayed up because in spite of all the fiasco at the start of the season, including gifting Bolton a 4-0 win, we were better than three teams over the course of 38 games. Like him or hate him, and people are increasingly moving to the latter, the worst thing you can do as a chairman of a club with loads of new players that has been plagued by chaos and upheaval is to add to that. If there were a really good, youngish candidate for the job who could fit in quickly then it might be worth spending the fortune it would to sack him and his staff but I don't think there is.
I would give him to December because his past management record is okay and he will want to get it right or his reputation will be zero. If its still desperate times we have a chance of changing it, and hopefully doing what we did last season and just staying up in 16th-17th. However, I find it hard to like him as our manager he just has no personality. If he gets it right on the field I can deal with that. I would still say it is luck that 3 teams were actually worse than us, did you go to the Liverpool game? Had we gone down however I would have said we were unlucky because of the away game at Bolton when the goal should have stood. But luck or no luck I was not happy with our performances last season under Hughes.
Even if you look into our wins under him last season, for example against Liverpool, they were not after some brilliant team talk or tactical change by Hughes, they were after he got the basics right and took off our worst players (Barton, SWP etc) in favour of better players (Mackie) who also took it upon themselves to motivate the team and try. The fact that after this he had a pre-season and an improved squad to get it right, yet has taken a step back means he needs to go
Only thing I disagree with is that we do have goals in us. If defence working, we can score. Even 1 against Man City. Not many do that.
We were lucky against Liverpool, though some credit should go to Hughes for taking Barton off which helped turn the tide, and there were plenty of games in which we shot ourselves in the foot despite dominating for most of the game which is essentially what Liverpool did. We were also desperately unlucky in many games, as all teams are- Wigan away, Bolton away etc etc.
No worries for me here at all we have goals in us i agree and whats more important that few have remarked on is that we are dictating play in our games. Our mistakes are costing us dear of course but I think that as no one here can give a reasonable alternative to a plan and pass cheap shots. The remarks are recorded so stand by your convictions ... we are going to be relegated is the cry ... well be happy with that then... that's your view we know when you stand so why continue to comment ... it's over you want Hughes out and no one to come in, you want a lot of the players gone and yet after the complete bollocks of the transfer season you can't name players either that you want. Park is a outstanding footballer and yet you now shout for him to go. SWP has played well in that position and worked extremely hard and yet he is now rubbish. Adel is rubbish then Adel is a master. Faurlin is a championship player then he is world class ... I could go on and on and posters on here just sprial down to new levels of rubbish. without any attempt to think of being constructive in any manner. You my fellow posters are suffering from Immediatius ... have a review of yourselves ... I will use the word fickle you get touchy but use the word deluded. And so it goes on ... I am proud to support QPR through thick and thin in the best situation the club has very been in recent times or maybe their history that is yet to be seen. Time to look inwards lads what are some of you becoming?
I care not what people think of me Northolt ... never a problem for me I am not on here for anything else but to support this club and if you were to catalogue the bile over time I am sure I have maintained consistent support and after all that is all i am a QPR supporter who has a great place to read and share viewpoint with fellow supporters. I question the rationale of the comments made and prefer to look positivity about our club and its future. I actually see it as my duty because of the way i feel that i need to combat what i call the published bile that has no solutions .. just compete negativity ... i ask in what world does that go any good?
That's what football message boards are for, they are always either too high or too low. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle, we're getting ourselves in the **** with this start, but it is retrievable, needs to start happening soon though! PS, did you think I was talking about you?
Dave you might have missed this point but you don't have to believe in Hughes in order to love and support your club. You sound more like George bush jnr by the day 'you're either with us or against us' If only it were that simple but it isn't
I think the real issue we have is that we all got caught up in the hype, thinking we would be challenging for European football etc. This was always going to be a difficult season and I have always believed that if we are able to finish the season between 14th - 16th it will be an achievement. We had a decent squad of players, our playing style is coming and I believe it will all come together shortly. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as gutted as anyone when we don't win but I can see the positives. Our perfomances against Tottenham, West Ham and West Brom at times have been great, sadly the results didn't reflect them.
Nope not at all. I think i was one of the first to speak out against NW in a sea of **** at the time. It's this easy for me. I feel people are making dreadful cheap comments on this board about something i believe is going in the right direction for yet another QPR team. I think we had good reason to collectively moan about our team in the past few years prior to us getting up ... now we are here we should be enjoying it. You cannot fault the ambition and yet it's clear to see why TF calls fans clueless. Its very simple to support a football club Wubba. I made a commitment on here to challenge the doubters who have equal influence over QPR as i do ... that equates to nothing in real terms but I will continue to ensure that i bring parity against what is quickly becoming a sick bag for the bullies .. that is me I stand and face any man in life so a few words on here should mean **** all. I do not agree with teh call for MH to go I do not agree that we should slag our players off... i base these viewpoints on the fact that we are growing. I am out numbered after the matches most weeks and I hope i try and restore some balance ... why ? because in Football the game is over after 90 mins and no one can change that ... you have no option but to look forward to the next match and thats the magic for me. I have never said that others have to believe in Hughes I am just giving my opinion ... read it or don't read it but if i read what i think is rubbish then i am going to comment on it
I sincerely think this team is good enough to finish very high indeed I am please you can see the positives. This game is so hard at the moment as you can't bring in team spirit overnight you cant guarantee performances .. if it was that easy... We survived and now Hughes gets to build his team in where i am
i think on the whole we have a very good squad of players but its the defence that is losing games for us, they make the same mistakes game after game, when everyone is fit which back four would you play
True, that was an excellent run of home games adding 15 points to our tally, or we would have been doing a Derby County, well and truly stranded at the bottom of the table.
That's why I said give him a chance to December because we need stability. But facts are facts and stats don't lie. Sorry I don't see any benefit in playing Wright-Philips at the moment, when we have Hoilett. He is not the worst player we ever had but we have better options. Park is a good player no doubting that, but he has been getting worse and worse and that needs sorting. Hopefully we can score enough goals but to date I am not 100% convinced. Having started this post, and said all this no one more than me wants Hughes to turn it around, but I am worried about his record with us thus far.
