There are a few rumours kicking about that Wonga have bought the naming rights to the ASDA stadium.

As I say rumour only but quite a few scumbags stating it.

Just a horrible effort, no other words really. Doesn't even mak eliteral sense, you have just hoyed 5 random words together, 2 of which relate to our team.

The rumour has apparently come from a decent source OP, not too keen on it meself, opens us up to plenty of jokes about Ashley and all he's in the club for! But it's only a sponsor at the end of the day.

Why do you call it the ASDA stadium? If anything that is better than the 'sports direct arena'

The Wonga Stadium? Surely Ashley couldn't be that cruel to the Newcastle fans?

Virgin deal is 10 million in total over 2 years I believe (5 million a year). Apparently the Wonga deal is for shirt sponsorship only.

£8 million a year is good money, that's all that matters when it comes down to sponsorship, who pays the most.

I'm sure we'd all like to have classy, blue chip companies on the shirt, but that's not reality.

It is amusing, but £8million a year at the minute is a great deal for anyone who isn't Manchester City, or us!

BBC News: "Newcastle United set to strike £8m shirt sponsorship deal with Wonga"

Newcastle will have to pay £20m back a month later, however.

Ha'way lads you're being a bit unfair on Ashley!

After all his fortune is built on using and exploiting child labour.

It's common sense to use Wonga, after all they rip off the poorest people in Britain who have no choice but to use their services, to make their wealth from obscene interest charges.

Was that deal not a roll over from Northern Rock? personally I detest the likes of Wonga, they steal from the poor to give to the rich, glad I dont need them.
