He's scored better ones. That was a bit of a scuff just like the ones I criticise Fryatt for. Couldn't see from the FLS angle whether it was right next to the keeper or bang in the corner but it wasn't a good connection. His goal at Forest last season was his best and one of the best finishes I've seen from us in ages. I'd link a clip of it, but I've always been unsuccessful searching for one on the internet. It's on the pre-match reel at the KC this season though.

Christ he can put it in with his arse as far as I am concerned, just as long as he puts it in.

It was a great finish and it was in the corner.

A bit of a scuff!!! FFS no wonder he scored then. If he'd hit it cleanly it woulda took a fans eye out.

mclean did well and pleased he scored..
but love the " i told you so " style comments that come up whenever he manages to score..
how about posting one everytime he doesnt....its like that tipster in the sun who does a full page spread once a season when he gets a bet right but never mentions every other week ;)

Aye i agree, but we still only have to put up with it 3 times a year.

When he scores he suddenly becomes world class, when he doesn't he suddenly becomes Michael Ricketts. Unfortunately he can't just be an average substitute can he.....

He's ok as a substitute, but I couldn't imagine him being in the starting line up of any other Championship club and he probably isn't as good as Simpson (almost certainly not as good as Aluko or Fryatt).

It is good, however, to see him show a lethal touch. SB challenged him to prove his worth and he's gone out and grabbed a goal, he can't really do much more than that. I think Ian Dowie did the same thing with Will Atkinson and he ended up scoring against Wigan; he was then here for far longer than he should have been (both of them).

Good to know. The TV angle didn't show it either way and I wasn't at the game.

I take it you mean the hilarious non-shot/miss? Didn't someone on here say they had money on us to win 4-1 that game and McLean's ridiculous miss cost him a **** load?

Looked like it bounced a couple of times on its way in. Only seen it once but it looked a bit lucky to me. I know you're taking the piss, but you need to get your head round this, goals can be lucky. Keepers can **** up, not every goal is a perfect finish. OLM reckons it was in the corner so I'm probably wrong, but you and Bob going on about this scuffing thing because you don't understand it is ****ing boring.

I was sat at the corner the ball went in and it took no deflections, just a good clean finish
