Thought I would start one of these as we have not had one for some of the recent games. My problem with this is I don't know an awful lot about some of the clubs we are up against. I dont mean any disrespect to the clubs we are playing by saying this. At the moment they are all new to us. Because of that I have shamelessly lifted the following from the Stirling Albion website. Stirling Albion and Rangers meet on league business for the first time since March 1968 when they square up in front of a sell-out 3,800 crowd at Forthbank on Saturday. Team news: Albion welcome back striker Scott Davidson after a two-game ban but Bradley Coyne is out long term after knee surgery. Player-manager Greig McDonald will miss the game as he is getting married so assistants Marc McCulloch and Shaun ***an will take charge of the team. Rangers have Ian Black and Dean Shiels back from injury but Fran Sandaza, Andy Little and David Templeton are out. Marc McCulloch: âWe will give Rangers the same courtesy and respect we give any team that arrives at Stirling but come 3pm we must believe anything can happen. I think itâs safe to say both teams have not performed to their capabilities but we are not even a quarter of the way in and both teams are new to the league. âIâm really looking forward to the game as a player and as a coach - some of my fondest memories as a full-time footballer with St Johnstone were playing against Rangers, especially at Ibrox against a team that included the likes of Stefan Klos, Barry Ferguson, Andrei Kanchelskis and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.â Ally McCoist: âStirling have a reasonable stadium and the surface is meant to be good so all the indications are it should suit us there. Itâs time for us to stand up and be counted and go out to get three points. If we want to go to the top of the league, we can go out and do that this weekend. Our performance levels will hopefully improve but the victory is the most important thing for us.â Hopefully we can start winning away from home today. If we win we will overtake Queens Park as their game against Annan has been postponed until next week.
Our away matches have been hard work to watch so far this season. Hopefully we can not only win the game, but play some attractive football.
Alexander Faure Perry Cribari Wallace Argyriou Black Macleod Aird Shiels McCulloch Subs - Gallacher, Crawford, Kyle, McKay, Naismith Surprised Hutton is left out altogether, thought he had played quite well. Got Shiels and Aird on to score 1st goal, 9/2 and 7/1 respectively
Maybe Hutton's taken a knock? Shiels is a good shout for first goal. Im still not convinced about Argyriou though. It will maybe take him a bit of time to settle. I agree with George though I hope they can play some decent football. As we head into the winter it will get harder and harder to do so on some of the away pitches.
From the limited games/highlights/radio comments I think Rangers have got two great future propsects in Aird and McKay...
Congratulations Stirling Albion. Was our signing of Kyle a further penalty from the SPL? You can't blame just one man, but every time he comes on as a sub I despair. Beeling? Naw, I've got the existential ****ing nausea.
oops. I'll offer to make a new banner for any newco fan. You know the one that says 'we dont do winning away' LMFAO
That's a bit cheeky trying to flog off your ten year old champions league banners after only one win. Hang onto them you might need them again in the future. Such is life.
Am sure he's a nice guy and all, but am in the mood to kick sumbdy's **** in and it may as well be him
