Very harsh, my motm against Wigan. Think we could rue that decision as Cuellar is slower and not as strong
I've made two points today, one that Bramble should be ahead of Cuellar and Mignolet's positioning for free kick. Both combined to screw us here :-/
3 of us actually said prior to the free kick being taken that MIGs was in the wrong position. Bramble has been a bloody good footballer for us and should not have been dropped today in favour of another good player coming back from injury. Having said that its not pretty but we are still in the game.
Wall should have reacted to free kick and Mignolet had full goal covered. Don't have the benefit of replays ir slowmos but it looked a quality shot.
What about Gardener thought he was supposed to be right back left us totally uncovered hence Cuellar going across and making a bad rash tackle.
MON will have to get Connor on, because there is nothing going forward and will somebody run at the defence for once. I would take MCclean off (he is not the player from last season) put Sess back in midfield and play Whickham with Fletcher, this will probably be the first clean sheet Man c keep this season!, typical.
I don't think Cuellar is better than Bramble or Kilgallon who was solid last season and part of that winning streak season. McClean is having a shocker, put sess on that side and bring on Saha.
The ball fell to his feat from our one and only (not offside) chance this half and he gave the ball away. He's not defending well and he has barely passed wind this half. We've got to improve before the next game Gardner looks lost now and Larrson has been poor.
At least sess seems to be getting back to his old self Rose had another good game only one mistake in the first half.
Don't know what game you watched but not the same as the one I watched. Jimmy Mac and Sebastian weren't poor Gardener was. We were beaten by a far better team away from home.
Here's nowhere near what he showed us last season ...Sess was one of our better players out there today Johnson did OK in the first half but didn't exactly look an England international at any time, then seemed to fade. Colback hassled and harried all game, but rarely got to the ball first or won the ball and seems to have an attack minded blind spot for distribution, Larrson gave the ball away too often but at least got the ball moving, Fletcher did OK -he wasn't far offside and it was a very good header that would have beaten many keepers.
JimmyMac gave the ball away far too often and certainly it lead to a goal on at least one occasion, not building on last season - yet few are. Our passing has been woeful at times.
