Fact 3 is the only one you can comment about as positive or negative.

I still don't like hearing or reading point 5, no matter how true it is.

Plenty of people have already made the same points in their own words. I actually take issue with this post. Though those 5 facts may be correct, the whole point of a football forum is to speculate on these things. If we did know everything that went on at the club, and we could do something about how the club is run, then we'd be working for the club and we wouldn't be chatting on here.

There's nothing wrong with speculating, as long you realise that it is just speculation. What's not okay is that people like Gomarchingin and Sharpshooter have seen two stories which have no connection to each other, and for which we have seen no details, and they have made a load of presumptions in order to connect the two stories. This is basically how ****ty tabloid journalism works, and we shouldn't allow these people to sensationalize what are most likely two separate non-stories.

There are people who come onto this site casually and read the articles as guests, and they may see one of Gomarchingin's posts and take it as fact. The thought that there may be people out there who are falling for this lazy, misguided scaremongering makes me angry.

Agreed Joe my dad browses the odd Saints forums to check on news and saw some saying the same as Gomarchingin and Sharpshoooter. He took it as fact(he's not really a net person) and got a little worried and called me ,until I told him what forums are really like.

Perfect example. This is why it's so important to study the relevant facts and do your research, and not make any presumptions, before making a publication. And yes, a post on an internet forum counts as a publication in law.

Even after only being here for a short time I can easily see who the people are who love bad news, so to think something they say is gospel isn't very smart. Maybe they are from the Rupert Lowe school or have only been fans for the last 5 years and have no idea how close we were to ceasing to exist. I find it baffling - we are in the premiership we have already given two of the top teams the fright of their lives have one of the most exciting playes in the league playing for us have a young squad (remember redknap's policy?)....whats not to enjoy?

This place is better than most to be fair, in sensibleness. The OfficialSaints Facebook page has 38,000 likes and I wonder how many of them read the comments and now think the club is about to go bust.

Hooray..! Common sense. I would add a couple of bits and bobs to flesh out CBK's observations. The club is not owned by the supporters, therefore it can do what it bloody well pleases. It may be that it could give more news to those that are interested in these things, but it isn't obliged to. Let's also be clear, whether SFC succeeds or fails, it is the club that is doing it. We are witnessing them go through this process. And, let's not forget the fact how relatively unimportant our opinions are, on this forum, when it comes to SFC.

I think he's having a hissy fit because some people suggested things he'd written weren't fact. He now has a FACT that nobody can deny is a fact. It happens here sometimes.
