This is why I go Charlton. The uncertainty, the unpredicatbility, the ying and yang atmosphere amongst the support. I love chaos and drama, I love that now things are getting a bit curly, some of us are getting a bit uneasy and biting our nails-this is what happens when you support cafc.

I am loving this season, this is our league, our watermark I need the struggle, the fight , the disappointment, we are going to be up and down on our seats all season and I for one want that. As long as we try that's enough for me.

So win some lose some , and try your best, it's all we can ask for.

There's a lot to be said for that view, typical - probably explains why, after watching that dire performance yesterday, I went straight down to the box office and bought a ticket for the Wolves game...<laugh>

For some reason last season was not really that much fun. I didn't enjoy it, maybe I have Stockholm Syndrome or just like pain and grief. I just like the struggle, the underdog status too much.

Interestingly I heard Mark Lawrenson say on radio tonite, do your remember charlton fans saying Curbishley has taken them as far as they could go? B careful what you wish for.

Although Mark Lawrenson is perhaps the biggest bell end ever to lean nonchantly on a sofa trying to look cool, we are really condemned by those desires, we overdared, reached out to far, I'm still embarrassed that a saying like that in football should apply to us, more so than say Leeds.

I think that sentence is about right. No need to qualify it.

He needs new material. The 'Charlton fans should have been careful what they wished for' line is at least 3 years out of date.

I'm enjoying this season alright tbh. Leicester are now up towards the top of the table after a rough start. A few wins is the difference between relegation scrap and playoff chase. It's an exciting league

I can relate to what you are feeling - the uncertainty brings out a different element, more tribalism (for want of a better word). Points will be won and lost when we don't expect it this season, but I would feel easier had we won a couple more games.

Agree with the sentiment. I am happy we are in this league, and prob prefer it over being in the prem.

Last season was brilliant, but not exciting

I would feel easier if we had won all our games Super!

I love the drama of football, almost as much as I love winning. But you need the bad times to realise how good the good times are! Last season pretty much everything went our way, which can detract from the drama, but I still get a thrill when I start to go to the Charlton page on the BBC and head towards league 1 (out of habit) only to remember we got promoted!

Funny enough I think we have played much better football at home this season for the most part than we did for much of last season....strange but that's what I think the opposition are a lot better there is now a big gulf between league 1 and the championship

I agree, we lack that killer instinct at the moment. Give us time and it will come, I still believe we can finish mid-table.

I think the top 5 of league one and the championship aren't too far apart.

The rest of league one is a long way behind though

Agreed about the top 5 in league one being well a head of the rest.

Someone mentioned the other day that Powell had done a bobby robson and stumbled upon his best 11. I think there is some truth in that, although i don't think its quite there yet.

I said last season that the team come January would be very different to the one he started the season with. Last time i was wrong, but this time i hope i am right. this team will click and go on a run at some stage. When it does i would imagine the line up will be quite different to what most people, including SCP, would of thought was our best 11 before the season started, or even now.
