why was the Utd game a "strike" for Foy exactly? The shirt pull which is missed 10s of times every match? Getting a ball to hand penalty decision correct? Getting the right amount of injury time?

Read this list earlier on JA606 - all credit to 'BahamaSpurs' !

(Some points have already been raised on this thread, but I've kept them in)

    Some referee facts:

    1. Mike Dean, referee, when Blackburn beat Manchester United 3-2 and hasn't refereed a Manchester United game since.

    2. Mike Dean - referee, in 2010, after Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea, was demoted to the Championship.

    3. Alan Wiley, called "fat and unfit" by Alex after Manchester United's ...draw with Sunderland," agreed to retire" that season, he was also the ref on OT when the mancs lost 1-4 to Liverpool.

    4. Mark Clattenburg refereed Manchester United's 6-1 defeat to Manchester City, hasn't refereed a single Manchester United game after that Manchester derby. (has acted as 4th official in 3)

    5. Martin Atkinson -Involved in Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea, criticized by Alex, hasn't refereed Manchester United game since.

    6. Ex referee Jeff Winter openly stating that he hadn't been given a Manchester United game for 2 years after sending Roy Keane off.

    7. Howard Webb has been Manchester United's most used referee since the defeat to Manchester City.

    8. More than 18% of the penalties Webb has awarded in his 8 year career have been to Manchester United.

    9. Manchester United's CEO is on the board of The FA.

    10. Alex Ferguson not happy with Chris Foy after their 3-2 defeat to spurs, Foy demoted to a League Two game between Accrington Stanley and Rochdale this weekend. something he hasn't done since the 2001-02 season.

    1. Oh he hasnt has he....... funny that, his identical twin has done 3 games since then I believe <ok>

    2. Dean had ****ed up a game between Burnley and Blackburn and the Burnley manager thought it was madness he got the title decider. He then went on to not give 4 penalties, 2 goals that shouldnt of stood and was terrible all round. Rightly demoted as I am sure you will agree.

    3. Wiley was 50, a 50 year old will struggle to keep up with 20-30 year old pro footballers. How many over 50 years old refs are refereeing top flight games?

    4. Clattenburg took charge of Liverpools 1-0 defeat at Stoke in which he awarded Stoke a 21st minute penalty and failed to award a penalty Suarez demanded later in the game. Hasnt reffed a Liverpool match since* and this was 6 weeks before the 6-1 City win.

    5. Oh really....... you will find he has.

    6. Nothing unusual, referees can go long period without taking charge of games involving certain teams, see the Clattenburg example ( used as Liverpool fans are the biggest believers in this conspiracy rubbish )

    7. Webb took charge of 6 games, only one of which was at Old Trafford. w4 d1 l1

    9. As was Arsenals once, and Boltons happens to be now. They were relegated last season. Maybe hes not learnt how to get his won way yet?

    10. Standard procedure
    -----------------------------------

As for number 8, not sure how many we are talking about but theres nothing to it really.

You can pass this back to BahamaSpurs if need be, if not I shall go log in and do it myself <ok>

That last one's an exaggeration, unfortunately.
Foy's last 4th tier match was the 3-2 home loss for Bury against Stockport in February 2008.
Still over 4 years ago, though.

Who decides referees appointments, and what is there criteria? this is what needs addressing, try finding out?? why not a clear and transparent rota system for the season. If a seasons fixtures can arranged, why not refs? There may be the need for the odd alteration for our FIFA refs, but that only accounts for about 7 of the 17 PL refs, surely its do'able.

Would be nice but you cant expect rookies to take charge of the biggest games. Its a job for experienced heads otherwise it would be chaos.

So why is one of the most experienced heads being exiled to Accrington Stanley this week, then?

    5. Atkinson had our game against United at home last season, over a year after he was criticised.

Oh and Calderwood you traitor! <laugh>

Apologies! I assumed it was factual, made an interesting bit of fiction all the same!!

And Yid Vicious - I'm not a member if that's any consolation! I'll watch 10 minutes of the Woolwich game as punishment <laugh>

I could say typical United fan! <whistle>

Why not, if you're a PL ref, you're a PL ref, how are they ever going to get experience otherwise. They don't wear a PL 'rookie' badge. That concept is elite'ist don't you think, the source of the problem I'd say. So its ok for a rookie to ref Wigan but not United. If your manager wasn't such an opinionated ogre on the subject, refs would have more confidence to do their job.

Not the first time an experienced PL ref has done it as has been mentioned a 1000 times already.

It makes perfect sense. Otherwise we may aswell just give any old ref any old game.

Infact lets just apply that logic to any field and see how we get on <ok>

Yes, the other time that you brought up was after someone had the gall to send off John Terry! <laugh>
Had Foy dismissed Ferdinand, would Ferguson have just had his head mounted on a pike outside the officials' dressing room at Old Trafford?
    Roughly the same message, eh?

Ridiculous answer, better not blood any rookie players in a 'big game' then. Your mamager is happy with that when it suits him.

Why should your games be any different to anyone elses?

So Chelsea are also in on this conspiracy?

United, Liverpool and now Chelsea. Pattern emerging here....... not what your thinking btw

edit - forgot Arsenal and Everton who also follow this suspicious pattern.

    And Reading....

    <ok>

Hi ref who has reffed 0-10 PL games, heres the Liverpool v United game. Good luck out there lad, your gonna need it <laugh>

I can only imagine how that will go.

That guy with the eyes, the italian ref, he was considered the best around in his day and he got the biggest, most heated matches because he could handle them. They didnt just give any random ref a major game, if they did all hell would break loose.

Think about it, what you are suggesting is insane <ok>

Don't go mixing major FIFA/UEFA games with PL games...rather silly.

What I'm suggesting just doesn't suit you. No point discussing any further.

I don't see how it's fair to say "you've been officiating at a poor standard for weeks now. We've decided to let you referee in League Two". Surely a poor referee is a poor referee, no matter what league? Who was that Sikh guy who used to be a referee? He was absolutely shocking
