He's poor, in recent years we have been blessed with some pretty decent goal keepers. Amos unfortunately is slipping into the Gulacsi and avoid category. Poor decision making, poor kicking, dangerous dribbling in front of the oppositions striker, 3rd goal tonight - just what the ****? He's utter ****. Can't believe Jakupovic is worse than Amos?
For the third it was solely his fault. He should have been more decisive and booted it out. The other were bad mistakes by the defenders and the midfielders not getting tighter to their markers. The freekick for their second shouldn't have been lofted over any of our player's heads in the first place. If it continues like this (defensive wise) no wonder his confidence will get lower and lower. I doubt even Mannone (whose prone to the odd cock up) would have saved us on saturday, or tonight, or against Leicester. It really was basic errors.
i dont think its unreasonable to at least question a keepers contribution after shipping 11 in 4.. of course a goal isnt always the keepers fault, in fact 99% of the time it probably isnt, but its got to be looked at..
He also seems very flat footed. Not getting across his goal to get a hand on a shot. Not all 11 goals in 4 games have been world beaters. Amos seems to get beaten by most shots.
1) Dudgeon 2) Quinn 3) McShane NB. Bruce jnr saved a goal but was to blame for Blackpools first goal. He let Phillips get away from him. His last ditch tackle was class though. Looks like Bruce jnr is out for 3-5 weeks now with groin injury. ITS LIAM COOPER TIME.!!!
C'mon Tickler, you know that aint gonna happen, he's on the NAUGHTY STEP for not going out on loan to Portsmouth.
amos did nt have a good game at all last night but to apportion any blame to him for the first goal is wrong. to let the winger walk to the byline for the cross is a massive defensive error in the first place, however to allow phillips to drift away some 5 or 6 yards to the penalty spot and turn and shoot as he did unopposed is a crime. amos is then on a hiding to nowt whatever he does facing such a finish. having said that, amos like all the other defenders are too prone to stupid errors at the moment. we need to be tighter throughout.
He's another waste of talent. He looks so skillful on the ball but it hardly ever comes to anything. Great goal indeed, but why can't he get the simple passes/finishes right more often? Come on that's nonsense. He's looked really solid before last night and what exactly was his mistake? Coming out to pressurise Phillips? If he stands on his line he would have just scored easily. The defence let him down completely there. I think it was golden boy McShane but not sure. That's just balls. Which goals should he have saved? Quinn Aluko Dudgeon Dudgeon's tackle for the 2nd goal was awesome, but his marking Delfouneso for their 1st was shoddy, he must have not noticed him. If it wasn't for that he'd be 1st.
Aluko Dudgeon Mcshane Thought Elmo had a good game,Faye n Amos both had mares .Fayes legs looked to have gone .Need Hobbs back ASAP
Macca Quinn Oli Simpson also did very well, his strength on the ball and hold up play is brilliant making him able to mix things up, so he can come short, play on the shoulder, very impressed with him this season.
I'll agree in the sense that Amos wasn't to blame for the first goal. But the second one he just flapped at; and the third one he did just run half hearted at the player instead of sprinting to the ball and hoofing it clear... even if it was VERY badly defended. We NEED a decent permanent keeper (don't we already have one with Jakupovic?) and a younger centre half who's big with legs! Daft thing to say... but maybe not signing Anthony Gerrard was a bit of a bad move, even if it was for back up.
McShane Dudgeon Quinn I was really pleased McShane had a good game as he has had so much stick from everyone, just hope he can keep it up. Though Dudgeon played really well again but two of Blackpool's goals were because or quite comical errors by us. Listening to Bruce after the game it sounds like Amos might get a rest on Saturday and he mentioned "individual errors and said Dudge was out of place for one of the goals" thought it as a bit harsh singling him out after the way he has been playing lately. He then said he was lucky to play as he had a bad knee. This I think may mean that he will not play on Saturday for whatever reason. Anyone know when Hobbs is back?
add to this that Oxley played for reserves yesterday, presumably releasing Jaku to play for Saturday. He had previously played every match for the Reserves I believe?
If I can still vote after watching the match on Tigers Player, I'm going for 1)Aluko 2)Quinn 3)McShane
No problem, you've saved me some serious counting too because before that Macca and Quinn were tied for second! Final result: Aluko Quinn McShane Table: Aluko 14 points Quinn 10 points Chester 9 points Simpson 8 points Dudgeon 6 points Elmohammady 5 points Amos 4 points McLean 3 points Stewart, Faye 2 points Koren, McKenna, McShane 1 point
Also, now Macca has some votes, the only players who are still with us but not got a vote at all are: Jakupovic Dawson Hobbs Evans Oxley Cooper Devitt Townsend
